Stand by my assertion that DDG is the key to Utd's season.

Any hope of a challenge is predicated to him being here IMHO. Outside of some super duper additions to the defence/ replacing him; you're still light back there even with the midfield additions. Stronger than last year, but not nearly enough to compensate for what he gave you. But you know my views on this already.

Happy to eat crow if I'm wrong.

Or stick a signature bet on it if and when he goes.

Good deal in the end if Perdo comes for 22m. On most likely smaller wages too. Net spend will be hilariously small compared to how much they've strengthened.
 
Btw, if we sell Di Maria then we have spent almost nothing in wages and transfer fee this season.

Total wages - 21.8 Million

RVP - 4.5M - 250K
Falcao - End of loan - 250K

Henriquez - 1.5M - 10K
Di Maria - 44.5M - 250K


Total transfer fee - 64 Million
Total wages - 48 Million pounds.


So we have saved 27 Million pounds in wages.


Even last season we offloaded many high earning players and added few (but those few are already offloaded)

Shaw - 100K
Herrera - 80K
Rojo - 80K
Blind - 80K


Di Maria and Falcao - 500K but both offloaded.


So total wages: 18 Million pounds.

Welbeck - 70-80K
Kagawa - 70K
Buttner - 40K
Zaha - 40K
Bebe - 10K
Evra - 100K
Macheda - 10K
Fletcher - 80K
Anderson - 80K
Vidic - 120K
Rio - 120K

Total wages - 43Million pounds.


So since last season we have offloaded players worth 91 Million pounds and added players worth 50 Million pounds in wages.


All these excluding new deals signed and also many young players released.
 
How Evans is here still is beyond belief, stealing a living he is, should of been replaced long ago. There are tons of CB's better option than him, personally I'd get rid and get someone like De Vrij. Much better backup option than Evans. Also De Vrij could develop into a great CB.

If transfer rumours are to be believed, he is on the market.

So Utd are trying to off load him on the face of it to be fair.
 
To be fair you'd have to be stupid to buy him. So it won't be easy.
 
So that's around 45 million quid....

Well united can now go and spend 25 odd on Pedro
