The Manchester United Thread

That's another problem. Transfer window opens in 4 days. Its obvious that you need to spend to drag yourself out of the swamp, but new manager will most likely end up going after targets already identified by Van Gaal. He won't have time to properly reassess the squad and go through proper scouting process for the players he needs.

Signing players is not always the solution. Players have 0 confidence in themselves, need manager who can motivate them.

Van Gaal hasn't turned up for training. Something big might be happening (fingers crossed)

Moriniho would in my view be the wrong choice if Van Gaal does fall on his sword. For the following reasons: 1. It will be a knee jerk reaction, just because he has won stuff and is available does not mean he is the right choice. 2. It is clear the Utd dressing room is demoralised at the moment, and will not take kindily to Jose's bullyboy tactics. 3. Van Gaal was always a short term appointment and admits to preparing the squad for his replacement, Jose is a short term manager so things will go back to square one.

If Gaal goes (and I think he will) his replacement should ideally be a young British manager (ok Moyes was deemed to be that but he wasn't given the time to prove himself in todays cut throat Premier League), foreign managers (unless they have already experienced playing/managing in a country) rarely cope with demands of a strange league. There are young managers out there who given the chance would do the job. Supporters and owners of the top sides need to realise that success is a fine line and only one team a year can win the league.

You need to start the campaign ball rolling for the perfect saviour!

He ticks all the boxes!

Young British manager.
Looking for a long term home.
Plays attacking football. (Most of the time).
Loves cultivating young players.
Has a point to prove over the hated rival.
Will install the character in the squad that's missing. No squad in the league will have as much character when he's finished!

You get my backing mate. Get on it ASAP! :P

He had his chance with your lot, and ****** up! You've got to give others a go.

Meh, you're no fun.

I thought of another major plus. He'll appeal to your traditional Irish stronghold!

The more boxes he ticks, the more it makes sense! You know you wanna'. :P.

He lacks one big attribute though or we don't know it yet. That's how he will cope at big club as all he did was at midtable clubs.

He'd have to go to a big club who are in the Champions League like City then mate.

There's me thinking Scousers had a sense of humour, if they did they would have kept him. ;)

Club in Champions league doesn't mean big club.

FYI ManUtd were in CL 2015-16, just that they were KOed early.

Nah. Big clubs not only win European Cups, they go out and retain them the following year.

Then you've the super clubs that actually own an original one.

Must be a nice dream to be a club that's done either of those huh? :S ;)

Can't we just all hold hands and sing koombaya in the spirit of Christmas?

No wonder Liverpool club official channel is History TV.

Yup, History. It's what defines each and everyone of us.

*Apart from City and Chelsea who manufacture theirs. But then they can never play the trophy game unless it's against 'big shots' like Sunderland and Huddersfield.

That's all scousers can do now as well, seeing as the last time they won it was over 10 years ago. ;) whilst they don't even know what the Premier league trophy even looks like as it was the called the First Division in the 1980's :p

For the love of god, not another United and Liverpool debate... especially in this thread.

I'm already grieving over how bad we are and how much of a mess we are at the moment without having to read this **** again.
