The Manchester United Thread

count yourself lucky you're not a Chelsea or Newcastle fan then

Doesn't mean anything to me though because I don't use us as a benchmark in comparison to other clubs. I only compare us to where we should be and not where others are.

Yup, History. It's what defines each and everyone of us.

*Apart from City and Chelsea who manufacture theirs. But then they can never play the trophy game unless it's against 'big shots' like Sunderland and Huddersfield.

I obviously disagree with this and I always question people's mentality or their thinking ability when they use this "they have no history" phrase. (I used to use it long back but at least after that I changed the way I think or view the history).

Manchester City and Chelsea have history, just that it's not filled with many trophies but they have their own history. If it makes you feel any better, City are older club than Liverpool.

Just because Liverpool and ManUtd have won trophies doesn't make their history anymore significant than other clubs. Every club has it's own history, some with trophies and some without them.

History defines every individual but it's not same in football. Any player would rather play for Chelsea or City than Liverpool and they don't give **** about History, same with any investor.

That's all scousers can do now as well, seeing as the last time they won it was over 10 years ago. ;) whilst they don't even know what the Premier league trophy even looks like as it was the called the First Division in the 1980's :p

Welcome to our World. You'll learn the ropes soon enough as another trophy-less year rolls by. ;).

For the love of god, not another United and Liverpool debate... especially in this thread.

I'm already grieving over how bad we are and how much of a mess we are at the moment without having to read this **** again.

Meh, some of us are just light heartedly messing to pass a boring Sunday.

Nottin' to get your panty's in a bunch over.

Club in Champions league doesn't mean big club.

FYI ManUtd were in CL 2015-16, just that they were KOed early.

Thanks for the FYI but they still aren't in the Champions League mate so I am correct.

No wonder Liverpool club official channel is History TV.

To be ****** I'd rather watch the History channel than our abomination of a club channel that is LFC TV. Our presenters are terrible. You can see they've tried to stick with scousers for the entire production but **** me that women presenter is so annoying.

I take it then you weren't around in the 1970's and 80's when the club was mid-table, United do not have a God given right to win every season, United are struggling currently because they are in transition, just like Liverpool are. If you can't take a bit of banter from a Scouser (who I'm sure will agree) then you need to chill a little.

In my opinion what makes a big club is a combination of things like: History of winning multiple trophies domestic and European over many years, dominate era, size of club stadium, average attendances, size of how many fan globally and finally size of club bank balance. Of course you could include many more things, but those one's I've mentioned are the most important one's.
So in my opinion both United and Liverpool are big clubs. Chelsea and Manchester City are yet to write their history yet in multiple trophy winning in domestic or European history. And has not dominated an era yet. You throw Arsenal in that category as well.

Can we go back to those days? Those days where fun. :D.

Then some no-mark called Robins went and ruined that down at Forest one cold Sunday afternoon in early January.

I WILL catch up with him some day.

There WILL be blood! (6).

He was last seen in Scunny. However, I think you've more chance of taking your revenge on a series of poor managers your club found in the famous 'Bootroom'

Yeah, Suness would be on the 'to do' list. But he scares me even now so I'll swerve him lol. Hardest player I ever saw live. (One particularly memorable European Cup semi against Bucharest springs to mind when he got 'revenge' on a Romanian who'd raked his studs down the back of Kenny's legs and put him out by getting between him and the lino on the Kemmy touchline and breaking the fella's jaw. Taking care of your own and all that. Used to be fun when your thug Norman and he went into battle haha.). Probably the best captain/ leader we've ever had. Complete, World Class midfielder. Just an absolute ****house as a person. The front page of the Scum article will NEVER be forgotten!

Evo gets a pass as there was/ is no more passionate red. He just was too nice and let them get away with too much. Travesty that group didn't win what it should of.

But this is the wrong thread for all this. The natives will be complaining.

Good point plus it's stopping me from winning the Premiership in FM2016 with some small team (not from the North West I must add).

I would much rather watch Liverpool's history channel than current United live games.

By all accounts every man and his dog has Chelsea as being the last one you'll have to suffer through. Seem's he's setting himself up to walk under his terms. Has to be in control until the last.

The question is where do you turn from there? Surely not Giggs? But then I'd be with anyone not wanting Morinho if I were you.

Gonna' be an interesting start to 2016 that's for sure.

Giggs don't make me laugh, he has no real experience and before you post that picture again you can keep Brenda as well.

Well, not quite. Seems pretty clear to me that he caved under pressure, either from the fans or maybe the board, to play more open football. Which ironically resulted in him losing a lot more credibility than when he was in full grind mode.

Absolutely. All things being equal he'd lurch you from one disaster to the next.

As far as ex-players go, there's only possibly Neville in the future, although he still has it all to prove; and if you could swallow your pride that many have with him and Citeh, Useless. Sorry, Mark Hughes. Old habits die hard. ;). He's taking Stoke on another level and they're playing far better football and have far better prospects than under that dinosaur Pulis.

Though I still can't believe you're not going all out for Pep behind the scenes.
