Great work Ed!

According to their press release, they're getting 72.6m euros after 'solidarity subsidy' so it likely means Raiola's fee is part of the transfer fee and not something on top of it.

Rare a buying and selling club agree of the public transfer fee when it's this amount! haha

come on his comments his comments were pure nonsense. I can understand him having a different opinion but to come out and say he's not a game changer or is only rated because he is an athlete and moves well is just ****!

Watching it, you're taking it out of context with what was said.

For as big a **** as Suness is a man, he remains one of the greatest midfielders there's ever been that could take hold of a game and completely dominate for 90 minutes. Keane and Viera the PL era have been the same the PL era. You see that in flashes from Pogba, but not over 90 minutes on a consistent basis. The potential for growth is there, which he openly acknowledged by saying he's rejoined at a great age. But wowing people in flashes is a completely different argument to that. But I wouldn't disagree with him at all in either that or that if you're dropping such a fee, you want game changing 30 plus goal players. Suarez instantly wins most any team the league being as he's the best striker in World football right now. Pogba not so much.

I don't see what he's said that's so off base there at all. Certainly not be labeled that.

You can claim the fee's all relevant to turnover or whatever, but I don't see the problem with someone coming out and saying when you pay that, you traditionally want the goalscoring/ dominant difference maker and that Pogba's not been anything like that to date in his career to that constant an extent.

I think you need to calm down with all this Ed woodward praise for not paying Raiola's fee. Raiola had no leverage as United were the only ones bidding for Pogba.

Doesn't matter who else is bidding. There is still an agents fee required usually. And he went from 18m to none. When you consider Juve were refusing to budge, he certainly deserves praise.

Pogba, a game changer? Maybe United bought a different Pogba, because Juventus Pogba averages 10 goals and 5 assists per season, while playing for a team that dominated the league for five years straight.

Those aren't a stats of a superstar game changer, those are stats of 34-year old Gerrard.

Seems like people are confused on what you actually bought. You didn't buy a dominating **** destroyer, you bought a You Tube highlight reel inconsistent prospect, with lots of potential, but it's just that, potential. Which is what bugs a lot of people about this fee, because world record transfer used to be limited to Zidanes, Ronaldos and fat Ronaldos, but now it seems like you have to spend a $100 million for a maybe.

To be fair mate, Zidane barely hit 10 goals / assists in all his years at Juve and Galactico Madrid lol

(his best year for assists was 14, goals 10 at Bordeux and 9 at Madrid)

(I do get what you're trying to say though)

Indeed. Huge amount of revision on Pogba. No one judges Iniesta on assists. Probably the best mid on planet.

Yeah, but his influence on games was SO much more than the numbers.

Utd go drop a World record fee on Zidane back then, you're like 'Oh F! Well that guarantees (as much as one guy can) dominance for the next X number of years with what they have and probably makes them a serious threat at the very top table. Europe. A player that takes you over the edge.

With Pogba, it's nothing like that fear. As good a footballer as he is.

That's the context and to slam anyone not buying into the later being the former is overt homerism at it's finest.

Where did that come from, wasn't in my quote haha.

Think Juve have done really well already getting Pjanic in to replace Pogba. Not as all round good, but a game changer at much less cost

Does anyone know how old Zidane was when he went to Madrid? That was a record breaking transfer at the time too.

1 La Liga win for Zidane, United got to hope that Pogba will be winning league titles much more than that

Sure Mike but Juventus knows that only United can pay the fee for Pogba no matter when they sell him. So if United have no intention of paying the agent fee, then Juventus and Raiola have no choice but to bend over if they every want to cash in on Pogba. Sure they can just refuse to sell and wait till next summer but United and Jose already made it clear they won't come back in for him (which I personally do not believe but there is that).

Woody deserved praise for plenty of things but this is not one of them.

Just because Souness was a great midfielder does not mean he knows what he is talking about. How many times have we seen ex players talk rubbish as pundits either because they are dumb or because they are wearing tinted glasses. I think this is a case of the latter.

Example:
Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is better than Barcelona striker Lionel Messi - Steven Gerrard | Football News | ESPN.co.uk

Did you know Iniesta once went a year without scoring and assisting a goal? During that period, he still got on fifa team of the year!

Zidane could just stand in the middle for 90 minutes, tapping it into nearest guy, and he would still make entire team look better.

I've been saying that I don't rate Pobga that much for ages, so don't revision me. Everytime I watched him in a big game he was invisible, then I see people posting highlights of him scoring a wonder goal against Torino and everybody is losing their minds.

And Iniesta doesn't assist or score a lot, but he does when it matters. That's what being a game changer is.

I wasn't talking just about you.

Either, i'm absolutely delighted to have him back

Equally delighted at how much **** it's boiling.

Enjoying City registering Stones last night too.

Keep it up Manchester clubs. Want us to obviously come out on top, but hope it's Manchester who top the table at the end.
