I am not sure how in the world Zlatan will be of help to quell the media and fan pressure on young players ...
My point is that among other things he ll teach them how to deal with it and keep them grounded and show them the work that they need to do before they ll become truly great

I agree with everything except the part where you said Zlatan will teach others how to remain grounded lol

Eh, no one would have a problem with Memphis if he just kept a low profile and focused on honest hard work. Instead he was showing off in brand new Rolls and banging 3rd grade gold diggers, to the point that Giggs out of all people had to reprimand him about his lifestyle.

If you act like you're hot ****, but done nothing of substance on the pitch, don't expect fans to have patience with you. People have patience with players who look like they're actually interested in improving their craft. If you cost 25 mil and the biggest headlines you make in your first year are of your exploits on the local celebrity scene, what kind of message does that send?

Contrast this with De Gea who came at similar age, struggled badly ,but he stayed humble, showed obvious talent and people stayed patient, helping him get where he is today.
Actually I can outrightly deny the part about the de gea point.

After a few bad performances and the story of Fergie signing him ahead of neuer, boy united fans did not hide their frustration. A lot of united fans called it a waste of £19 million

He'll serve a similar role to the one van nisterelroy served when he played alongside young lads like rooney and ronaldo. They perform poorly, he takes responsibility.

A lot of those fans were only concentrating on the negatives, anyone who looked passed the fact we went for DDG instead of Neuer was able to see that, while he made mistakes, his reflex saves were amazing, and we knew that as a kid he was at the best club in the world to develop a talented keeper.

It annoyed me all of the DDG bashing at the time as people were clearly ignoring what he could be. Every young player goes up and down. A young GK is no exception to the rule. Ask any United fan now who would they rather have, Neuer or DDG? 99% will say the same thing.

..... Every young player goes up and down. A young GK is no exception to the rule.....

Even more so with a young goalkeeper. If you're gonna' be committed to playing a young 'keeper, you have to be prepared for the inevitable glut of goals that go past him. Many down to his mistakes. But if you believe in him, you have to stick with him and allow him to develop without his place being under pressure.

I can see it coming with the young German L'pool have just bought, Loris Karius. Although slightly older at just turned 23, he's still a relatively inexperienced, developing young goalie. But because we're both desperate for ANYONE to replace Mingolet, and Karius being voted by his fellow pro's as the second best 'keeper the Bundesliga last year behind Neuer, expectation that he'll come in and completely be lights out from game one is through the roof. Whereas in reality he'll concede goals and make mistakes as he's both young and developing and in a completely new league/ team.

Just continues on the recent discussion about the Sky generation of fan just having little to no patience and wanting everything NOW!

As Munroe so pertinently put it, 'ridiculous' isn't the word.

A lot of rumours over the last few days that we are after Gabriel Barbosa and are close to signing him. Anyone else heard anything solid on this and what are people’s thoughts?

Probably they gonna have the medical together with Lozano. :P

NAPOLI AND ROMA TARGET DARMIAN - SkySports.

Intrested to see if Mourinho will sell, Valenica first choice at the moment, got Fosu-Mensah, Young and Bailly who can all play there or will he go after a new RB if hes sold.

Nothing from anyone decent on Barbosa or Gabigol sounds like there agents are whoring them around. Both linked with about 3 different clubs every day. Same with Lozano was most probs BS player himself has said he's not heard of an offer. And going by what Mou said about Januzaj why sign another young talent for the wings when there clearly gonna be well down the pecking order behind Martial, Mky, Mata, Memphis, Young.

The only one who would play there is TFM

Don't think he will sell tbh. He won't use Young or Bailly at FB imo. Young is not even a defender and Mou wants specialist in possitions. And I can't see Mourinho playing Bailly there, arguably our best CB and Mourinho wants to be careful with him and admits he will need time to settle and learn the language. Can't see Mourinho doing a Jones with Bailly and shifting him around especially in his first season. TFM could play there but would be the biggest waste of a players ability ever! If Darmian is sold I would like Riley to get promoted to back up. This lad is quality!

For some reason I thought Jose might see TFM as being converted to a midfielder.

He a midfielder anyway played there most his youth career. Dropped into CB at times for the reserves.

Yeh I know but when I say converted I mainly mean to play in that position for first team. So far I've only see him play CB and fullback for first team. He's a great prospect though and definitely want to see him get minutes this season.

Exactly and imo would be a huge waste of his abilities!
Possibly so but can’t see him playing much in his best position as we have a number of players for the two midfield roles, unless he changes it up and uses a 3 man midfield. Also can’t see him play much as CB so RB is probably his best chance of playing I would have thought this season.

I think when the cups and Europa start hopefully Jose starts to use him more often anywhere tbh. He can cement a CM down later on in his career.

Let's not generalize, there's always some idiots, but it was obvious to anybody with a bit of sense that De Gea might turn out to be signing of a decade if club stays patient with him.

Besides, was Neuer even interested? The way I remember the story, Fergie wanted Neuer but he had his mind set on Bayern.
