The Manchester United Thread

Nothing from anyone decent on Barbosa or Gabigol sounds like there agents are whoring them around. Both linked with about 3 different clubs every day. Same with Lozano was most probs BS player himself has said he's not heard of an offer. And going by what Mou said about Januzaj why sign another young talent for the wings when there clearly gonna be well down the pecking order behind Martial, Mky, Mata, Memphis, Young.

You know that Barbosa and Gabigol is the same person Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa

Let's not generalize, there's always some idiots, but it was obvious to anybody with a bit of sense that De Gea might turn out to be signing of a decade if club stays patient with him.

Besides, was Neuer even interested? The way I remember the story, Fergie wanted Neuer but he had his mind set on Bayern.
From what i've read he was looking at them both but Neuer agreed to join bayern so forced his hand really.

I agree with everything except the part where you said Zlatan will teach others how to remain grounded lol
I know what you are saying but i think his influence will b invaluable even in this respect.

The Jose Fonte rumours won’t go away, with Rojo maybe going the other way. Think it would be a good short term signing if we pull it off. Would mean we would have four solid CB, could then possibly loan Jones out for a season to try regain some fitness and get some much needed game time.

20 Years ago on this day this happend!!!

It's like watching Xabi Alonso. :P.
EXACLTY like Alonso, of course, Alonse never had the style, the swagger, the ability, the pace, crossing ability and wore the wrong red jersey and did it second. Ignore those and they are carbon copies of each other :P;)

If there's any truth at all to it, I'd definitely take him. He'd be beneficial to Martial & Rashford, he brought Bradley Wright-Phillips on an absolute tonne out in the MLS by just training & playing alongside him.

As utterly disgraceful as Friday night's game is (having Southampton fans travel the other end of the Country. On a Friday night. And you're all about the fans huh Sky and the PL? REALLY?), I'm really looking forward to seeing Utd for the first time this year.

So many curious issues. The Bailey debate that is splitting Utd fans. How Shaw is looking post injury. Where will Pogba play? (If he's even fit enough to start which I highly doubt.). Will Metal Mickey finally start? And any early Mourinho influence or not in general.

Bailly is a pacey beast who needs a few little areas ironed out, e.g; every challenge doesn't need to be bone-crushing one :D I've been really impressed with Shaw's psychological approach more than anything, and that's not mentioning the pace and urgency he adds to our attacks on top of solid defending, his eagerness to get stuck into a 50/50 when needing to really is applaudable so early doors after a leg break, and that's half the battle when returning from an injury like that. As for your other two questions, I'm wondering too :D But I don't think Pogba will start personally, and if he does, he'll not see out the 90, as I don't care how fit you think you are or what hobbies you do in your spare time, nothing beats playing competitive football, and he like everyone else will gradually need minutes in his legs.

He was the same in the semi at Villarreal. Very lucky to get away with completely missing Lallana the half way line which would of lead to him being clean through but for a very poor piece of officiating.

But that was one game so I'm curious to see him Friday night.

He's smashed his first two games so far. By the end of the season he will a brilliant defender. With at least 1 red card.
What I liked about Bailly that was barely talked about, was his passing. 100% accuracy, but with range, and threat too

Dont expect to see a sudden shift, United are coming together piece by piece

Naturally. You're changing a whole mindset that's been drilled into the players the last two years.

Wouldn't expect to see an obvious Mourinho 'team' per se until into next year.

Was the first thing I noticed. So composed on the ball. LVG would kill for Blind-Baily backline pairing, so much possibilities for endless passing.

What was interesting was that the freeze you get LVG after a goal didn't happen. United went full tilt for it. Were it not for sloppy cover from Martial it would have been a clean sheet. Mind you he got two assists while playing badly so swings and roundabouts.

They look more comfortable already though, we were 6/10 against Bournemouth and never looked like losing. Far cry from the same fixture last year
