Good to hear Wilson will be going on loan, think he deserves one more "prove yourself at another club" chance as opposed to being sold.

Love this kid.

What are people thinking the result will be tonight? Haven’t beat them at home the last couple of seasons but I would say this is their weakest team in a couple of year. Their two best players are speed merchants in Redmond & Long but dealt with the likes of Ibe,Wilson & Gradel well last weekend so hoping for the same again. I think we will only make one change for the match and that will be Mkhitaryan coming in for Mata. Id expected Pogba and Smalling from the bench to get game time.

Think it will be 3-0 tonight. Ibra, Martial, Pogba with the goals. Think Pogba will start after hearing his presser yesterday and will most likely be with Fellaini sitting like against Boyrnmouth. And Mky coming in for Mata. Can't wait absolutely buzzing OT is gonna be rocking. Debut for Mou, Mky, Bailly, Zlatan and Pogbas 2nd debut :) Saints in the tunnel are gonna be beat looking at the likes of Zlatan, Pogba etc. Noticed it before Bournmouth game most there players staring at Zlatan :)

Yeah i think same scoreline but think Rooney will grab a goal. With Bertrand still out, Doubt Fonte's head will be right for the game with all the transfer talk and with Wanyama gone their defence is a lot weaker. Get Mky on the right with Velnica and the young lad Targett is in for a **** of a night.

3 points most important, hope we can score a few though and get confidence going, which will lead us on to a strong momentum. If Jose teams start to build ahead of steam early on they tend to do well, lets hope we can get rolling.

The main thing for Mourinho to establish is to get the fear factor back at OT. Since the end of Ferguson. every side in the league fancies their chances there which is a major difference to a season. Nobody has been fearful of going Utd.

Having had a little look, I'm a little surprised to see that haven't lost a league game at home since January, our only home defeat in 2016 came at the hands of tonight's opposition, and since losing to them, we won 7 of our remaining 8 home games (the only lapse being a draw with the champions Leicester, and we absolutely played them off the park that day if my memory serves me right). So stabilising our home record like that, when in recent years lesser teams were getting joy coming to Old Trafford, on top of the FA Cup triumph and introducing the likes of Rashford, TFM, etc. Louis ended his tenure with some definite contribution in rebuilding United, if you excuse his shocking style of play.

I think the only positive he can take is the FA cup, great to win it for the first time in years. The home record was okay at the end of the last season but we were scrapping past team, No one feared coming to Old Trafford. As for the youngsters, they only made the team because of injury and then played well enough to keep their places. If he had actually seen something special in them, they would have played out of will and not need.

Hope Mkhi does as well, over Rooney ideally but realistically Mata.
Yeah would love Mky to start. Very good interview with Herrera saying after meetings with Mourinho he has been assured he will be a key figure for him, but in a deeper role like against Bournmouth.

HERRERA AND MOURINHO AGREE ON POSITION
Ander Herrera has revealed to MUTV that a conversation with new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho led to his deeper position in central midfield, with both agreeing he WILL be an “important player” this season.

The 27-year-old Spaniard started last Sunday’s 3-1 win at Bournemouth as a combative deep-lying midfielder and earned plenty of his praise for his performance at the Vitality Stadium, with Reds legend Gary Neville even naming him his personal Man of the Match on Twitter. During an interview with MUTVahead of Friday’s match with Southampton, Herrera was pleased with his display.

“I had to do a different role in the team and I think I can be important there for the manager,” Ander explained. “I have spoken with the manager and we are agreed with that, that I can be an important player for the team and that I can help the team in that position. I think I can win a lot of balls back for the team. My instinct is to try to win the ball back for the team as quickly as possible.

“I felt really, really good and not only with the ball, but also without it. The team was very compact, you can feel that always you are pressing the ball when you have two or three team-mates close to you, helping you, so I want to keep doing the same and helping the team."

Herrera also spoke about how much the team has already improved this season and outlined how Mourinho had instructed the players to beat Bournemouth by several goals so that United could sit at the top of the Premier League after the first round of fixtures last weekend.

“I feel that the level of the team has gone up,” he said. “I think we can get good things together, we can do something important this season, not only because we have won the last two games. I think if you can see our training sessions every day you feel something special, everyone is happy, we want to play as quickly as possible, we want to keep winning games, we want to be top of the table.

“I remember before the game against Bournemouth, the manager said if we score one goal we have to try to score the second goal because we want to be top of the table right now. So that’s a good mentality I think. But of course we have to keep our feet on the floor because the season is long.”

Looking forward, Herrera is relishing the prospect of playing alongside new signing Paul Pogba, a player he has a lot of admiration for. “I think he’s a top player, maybe one of the best five players in the world that we have with us so it’s very important. He can recover the ball, he can shoot on goal, he can dribble and he can defend so he has everything. We are so lucky because we have him.

"When you think about the best players in the world they are very good but maybe they are very good at specific things. But Paul is good at everything so we are going to enjoy him. As a midfielder I will feel very good if I have the chance to play with him."

Always liked Herrera as a footballer and his passion, hope he can really kick on this season.
