I know it's not exactly the same, but it's along similar lines.... Pogba gets positive attention in France for his charismatic behaviour on Social Media or in public, The Swedish think of Zlatan as a God for his unique arrogant persona, but if any English player behaved like this they'd have the whole nation and their dog on their back - I think that's one of the reasons England will never be able to perform in a major tournament nowadays. They feel much too under pressure to behave a certain way, to the point that they're pretty much living robots. If England win, it's a "yeah we played really well, we just need to focus on the next match now" whereas elsewhere Pogba & Patrice Evra sing a Marvin Gaye classic after their win, the French media & people see the funny side of it, whereas the negative "he should focus more on the pitch rather than his dance moves" comments come from British sources, and that's the difference. Let them go out for a few beers, let Sturridge do his crazy dance, let Lingard dab around the shop, let Rooney go sing in a bar with Ed Sheeran, for God sake let them loose and have some individuality around the place... there's a difference between being a professional and being a ****** robot, as long as you're turning up to training every day and performing to the best of your abilities on the pitch, then who cares what they do on their nights off, or on Social Media in their spare time, or how they celebrate wins, they're human at the end of the day. Why are characters or any sort of down to earth behaviour so frowned upon in England?
