The Manchester United Thread

Jose just can't help but have a dig at wenger before every time he faces him

I don't think Jones will be starting tomorrow if it can be avoided (which it can now Shaw is fit, and definitely could be avoided if Smalling is available) - it would be a huge ask for the lad, I know he completed the 90 against Swansea when we had availability issues, but it was hardly a test against a diabolical Swansea. Give him minutes against Feyenoord on Thursday, a profile of game that'd be more suited, but I'd be very wary throwing him in against Arsenal.

As long as we don't have Jones and Rojo partnership against Arsenal I'm happy. I mean it is asking for big trouble when Arsenal have players like Ozil, Sanchez and Iwobi.
You still have Smalling. :P

Good luck tomorrow boys. Sincerely. Hope you get the win.

Another dent to Arsenal's hopes would be just the ticket. :D.

I have no problem with that before an arsenal game. Fergie took digs at wenger back in the day before arsenal game. I do have a problem with it when he bringing Wenger up randomly like in his very first official interview as united manager.

Bar his horror show vs Chelsea he usually is alright.

Well, he was widely regarded as the best centre half in the league last season, so if he's being sarcastically slagged off, it doesn't say much for the rest of them. :P

Our defence is weak, no hiding that, but we just got to hope they do a job tomorrow and Mourinho sets the team up well.

Just go at them from the off, we're Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Can't say I'm on board with that, would rather see United lose still :P

Ahhh, there is a macabre method in the madness. Let Jose have the odd win here and there. That way, there's no danger of them binning him.

And we we want him to stay as long as is possible haha!

The banter in here is side splitting.

Intrigued as to what line up will get selected, Bellerin is a huge loss, would like to see Rashford or Martial really target that flank

Conversely, could see Shaw having an almighty tough battle with Sanchez

No banter, just genuinely can't support United unless there is a definite, direct benefit for Liverpool. Another contender dropping points at this stage of the season doesn't qualify. I'd expect you feel the same about Liverpool

I honestly dont think about anyone else this early on. Get your own business done and the rest looks after itself.

Completely agree, no point looking at the chasing pack. Sort out your own house and generally things fall into place :)

Anyone remember that result?

Kinda shows you we went through difficult times with fergie. Imagine getting that result today...we would be the roast of the week

I'll never forget the Southampton match in 1996.
I was in a bad way in hospital after a 150mph+ motorcycle smash and spent weeks in the place.
The nurses wheeled me down on a trolley to watch the match on TV (with chest tubes and pumps attached) and I was delighted to be out of the room for a bit.

Then this happened :S
