The Manchester United Thread

**** knows what he was doing there, but what's really mad is that was actually the worst thing in a long list of things Anthony Taylor got wrong that day and unbelievably no so called expert has picked up on it. The ball doesn't leave the area. It goes behind on the edge of the area. So it should never of been a corner to Sunderland. Just a retaken goal kick. If they'd scored off the corner, we'd have another 'beachball incident' which should never of stood and all sorts of controversy.

Barring United's titles, my favourite PL moment hahaha. :D

Superb to see Eric Bailly back in the starting 11, boy we've missed him! I know I've said it time & time again, but this is our best system in my opinion; Pogba as the box-to-box, Mata in the #10, two forwards either side of him, with Ibra up top. Comfortable win for the red devils I feel.

For f**k sake Pogba??? You are not playing Fifa in your hotel room!!!

Meh first half. Will take it though as long as we get no injuries. Bailly looks good and fit. Dominated and played some decent stuff, pitch making it hard to be clinical in the final 3rd.

Boring half to be fair. Zorya parking two busses.

In fairness... We aren't exactly playing scintillating football ;)
They'd struggle to open their make up bags with this approach.

Not enough running in behind. Zlatan dropping too deep, Rooney wants it to feet, Mata too isolated out wide, and again, also too deep. It's all nice and well trying to walk it into the box when there's space against teams with at least 10% ambition, but when teams are parking a bus like this, you have to try and get in behind and move the ball quicker, if you're trying to play it around 30 yards from goal, in front of their 8-10 men, then they'll happily take that and try soak it up for the 90.

Yeah, too pedestrian, not enough running in behind, not enough zip in the passing. Pretty boring stuff. Hopefully it'll open up. Don't really see why Zorya are being so negative tbh, nothing to gain nor lose, give their fans something.

Mourinho to fellaini: Listen mate, we're leaving you in Ukraine.

Group play is only about getting through. Doesn't matter how you get to that point. Just qualify.

All things considered, a very decent display. Professional European away where you've more or less been in complete cruise control right through.

Hasn't been a great group from Utd right through, but again, the bottom line is having European football in the Spring. And you have. So congratulations.

Ibrahimovic looks tired tho

Don't understand why you're trying to run a 35 year old into the ground when you have two young forwards. Not so much this game, but he's playing 90 minutes in most every game. Strange approach when you don't need to lean on him so heavily.
