Yeah the idea this pathway doesn't exist is somewhat rubbish tbh. It's the current first team options that are under threat, not the youth progression
 
TFM isn't anything like Carrick, Axel is still at least a year away(think he will do well to break in this season). Like Lingard I expect him to break in at 22. It's ironic people demand patience for youth, but dont show any for them actually being developed before they break in

From what I've heard David Harrison will join United as head of academy recruitment with Lyndon Tomlinson as assistant. Both formerly at City and we're bringing in a 3rd City academy scout as well
 
Yeah see this is why I don't like transfer rumour stories in here, especially when coming from secondary sources
 
Come on saints! It would be great to make up ground on a club above us and finish points level with Spurs and be joint 5th place except goal difference.

Im not sure if it's not happening yet. But that SimonStoney tweeted that there is defo interest, but unlikely to happen in Jan. Sounds like the work is being done now for summer. Depends on these 2 form atm. If Jones and Rojo carry on then will be fine. If Rojo loses form and Jones get injured then I can see it happening in Jan especially with Bailly leaving.
 
So Zlatan is one goal off equalling Lionel Messi's 2016 goal tally, two off breaking it, with Messi having no game left this year, and Manchester United having Middlesbrough at Old Trafford. Whatever happens, not bad for an easy to mark, 'has been'. XD Special, special player.

As for the "Ligue 1 was an easy league" comments that one or two may drop - No easier than Messi and Ronaldo have it when being involved in 7-0+ games a few occasions throughout their season. Fantastic achievement from Zlatan to split those pair in the chart, and maybe even top the crop.
 
The way he's played so far this season has surely put that ridiculous stereotype to bed

I'm genuinely confused on this.

Didn't know of that until you posted, so presuming it was big news I pulled up some info. This was the English article I found from today:

Which is sound. Reads great. Then I was curious on Suarez to see how his games/ goals stacked up against Messi and Ibrahimovic. And that's where it become not so sound and confusing as Luis goals weren't what's suggested. So out of interest if just that was a mistake, I looked at Ibrahimovic and Messi's game logs too.

Going off these game stats (Lionel Messi | Football Stats | Barcelona | Season 2015/2016 | Soccer Base) for all three for the calendar year, the totals are wholly different. That would suggest when you go through all 3 Messi has 59 goals from 61 games he's played in 2016. Suarez 51 from 57. And Ibrahimovic 44 from 54.

Again, genuinely confused to the Mail article and reference source/ metric used? Shrugs.

He has scored 10 cup goals in 2016, two against West Ham in the League cup, the winning goal against Leicester in the CC, and 7 in France.

All perfectly adds up to 50 goals.

Adds up to 48, behind Messi, Zlatan.

How in the World is International goals not being counted if you're taking a players games/ goals over a calendar year?

Which would have Messi on 59 goals from 61 games. Not looked at the other two.

Again, what am I missing here? Or what other reference site was used here if that one is missing games/ goals?

Genuinely not getting this.

To be fair, I don't think the article ever intended in tricking you into thinking their stats for their countries come into the equation; "Zlatan Ibrahimovic can become 2016's leading goalscorer in the leading European leagues if he scores twice in Manchester United's New Year's Eve match with Middlesbrough". Even on FM, Europe's top marksmen doesn't include international goals.

As for Soccerbase, I wouldn't go by it. I noticed in the past, their stats aren't the greatest. Soccerway is much better, and the site I used to check this. Soccerbase doesn't even include Coupe De France games in their archives, and Zlatan scored 7 goals in that competition in 2016 alone.
