I'm not too sure about this whole Romero starting in the europa league final as we have our entire season riding on that game. It's the difference between success and failure. **** that moral high ground!

Let's play it safe and start de gea. Romero has done well but he'll be an extraordinary amount of pressure

DDG isn't playing it's as simple as that! Romero has been fantastic this season in all comps. DDG hasn't been called on as much, and showed lapses in certain games. His head is clearly not right and could of cost us a goal today as well.

On on another note Ballague today confirming the James from Madrid story. Also says it won't effect us signing Griezmann either.

Romero has played in World Cup final, two Copa America finals and Olympics final. He has more experience at this sort of games than De Gea.

de gea is a great keeper but unfortunately we just havent progressed enough in the last few years and i think he deserves to be in CL finals winning big trophies.we wont be in a CL final any time soon.Time to accept the sir alex days are history as much as it pains me to say it

James playing now for Real to the left in a 3 man midfield and just had a shot that gave a rebound to Ronaldo for tap in!

****** me off this SAF ****. Our football was turgid under him our last few seasons. Even Fergie was not like Fergie the last few years. We have progressed in many ways under Mourinho this year nearly every way. The thing that has got worse is our conversion rate! De Gea is still getting paid very well for one of the biggest clubs and winning trophies. I have no doubt under Mourinho that we will be back to the one of the top in Europe in the next 2-3 years. If De Gea wants to leave then so be it. I will be sad to see him go but won't hold it against him.

The improvement in style has been against lesser sides though and yet we've dropped many points to them with the amount of draws.

Away from home against top 6, we've only scored 1 goal. It's not really great.

I think we'll be better next season, but the signings have to be right and most importantly, we need to be in CL.

plus under saf we only ever got to 4 cl finals any way so you cant say he was geting us to a final every few years so i dont really see your point

Yeah that's down to poor finishing mainly. Especially against the lesser sides. And against the big teams that's how Mourinho plays against the top sides. Keeping it tight and knocking it he just doesn't have the quality over the pitch yet to do this. Agree about the signings. But if last Summer is to go by I'm more than confident.

thats the beauty of opinions i guess,we all have one and see things differently.i grew up watching united late 80s onwards and saf era is the greatest ive known.

Yeh but he didn't build it in one season, Mourinho is known for getting it right in the second, I just hope that we're in the Champions League for that.

ive never criticised jose, all i suggested is de gea wont win a CL medal at united next season but could at real. And as i stated, the saf era is the most exciting ive witnessed.I stated ERA not a season

Think that's the problem. People seem to forget it took Fergie years and years to build us into a successful team continually challenging at the top. Even though I think he should of achieved better in Europe. Under Fergie early rain it wasn't a lot different to how it been for the managers that have taken over since he's left. A couple of matches and results had gone a different way it could of been a different story. Let's be honest even those 2 CL under Fergie we'll especilly the second one was a stroke of luck. And the Munich one was won due to Fergie having time to build a squad and instil belief and confidence that they could do what they did. It's gonna take time for Mourinho to get us there.

My main issue with Mourinho right now is this style we're playing against big teams away from home, yes he has always done it, but it isn't the United way to be so turgid and toothless in the first half against Spurs.

If we set up like we did today against Ajax in the final, I can see them beating us honestly, we need to go out there and attack them. Not hope we can keep them out of our goal and nick one ourselves somehow.

The way we played against Chelsea was the same as we did against most top teams, just in that game we were clinical and took our chances.. which we've lacked in almost all games this season

Well at home, we totally controlled and dictated the game. With a great victory 2-0.

But then away from home, the mentality was totally different and they bossed us. With the 4-0 victory to them.

I don't get why there is such a difference in our mentality, we should be able to still play some good football against a top 6 team away from home, like we have demonstrated at Old Trafford.

It will be completely different in the final. Different team, mentality, maybe a different formation. If The Lyon game is anything to go off they don't handle the big occasion this young Ajax team. And I think we are all gonna have to get use to the so called Utd way being different with Mourinho in charge. I excepted this when he took over. I also knew he was a pragmatist who knew what it takes to win trophies.

James applauds the Bernabéu. It's his last game here!

Just watching the Madrid game. It was defo a fairwell to the Bernabau wave. Got a great ovation. Mended Confirms it will be a big Summer for James. Most Spanish Media tweeting the same and Ballbags said after as well.

I'm sure you're right, but for me we need to be more balanced, a winning mentality can succeed away from home as well. I think we'll be better next season anyway, plus todays game against Spurs was meaningless in context.

I don't really care about these 3 games in PL and I am happy in what Mourinho has done in most aspects. Just some others that I would question, like do we need such a mentality shift when playing away from home against top 6, especially Arsenal and Spurs. Apart from that there is improvements to be seen, especially against teams outside the top 6, chances created are in a different realm to under LVG, but we don't have a finisher right now.

Yeah now Zlatan won't be here for the start of next season or maybe longer. A top GS is defo a priority in the Summer. Think the game plan against the teams we will be fighting for the league will be pretty much the same, but with better players to carry out the plan. Can defo see why Mourinho wants more quality in attack/ goal scorers. Especially on these types of games where we won't get lots of chances. Also expect more improvement from Rashford and Martial next season. And more consistency from a Mky now he's settled a season. Mata is always consistent. And even think Lingard will improve again. After the attacking sit is sorted. CM is the next key area!
