Every single word of that! Superb, from the heart piece.

People not from the North West, ****, most people not from England, who are L'pool or Utd fans are conditioned to hate the other set of fans down to the rivalry. They listen to YouTubes, or read fan posts, and it's 'Them Scouse bastards!' this. 'Them Manc bastards!' that. When in truth, if you take the football out of it, we're pretty much cut from the same cloth and get along sound in the main. The past 24 hours I've read absolute imbeciles, to be kind, unhappy at the support that's come from L'pool to Monday night's horrific events. Grating with them that Scousers are there to help. Because of the frigging football hatred that's conditioned into them. When in truth they both align as football clubs and football supporters with each other more than any other club as much as people don't like to admit it.

Football drives the hatred. Which isn't there in normal day-to-day life. There's a heck of a lot of good people in both City's that go into making both City's as great as they are. Who get on sound with one another. Had some boss nights out in Manchester. Been to some great gigs. Worked with some great lads from there. Because when you boil it down, we're pretty much the same.

Sadly, some people just can't see life past the football. Which with a human tragedy such as this, is the saddest and most disgraceful part of it all.

I have no idea why people dont like Smalling. Yeah, he's injury prone and **** with ball in his feet, but other than that, he's solid.

Smalling > Jones for me as well, and very happy if Mata is starting, hope it's Mata and Mkhi on the wings!

The starting lineup was leaked a few days ago chaps: -

Romero

Darmian
Blind
Smalling
Valencia

Herrera
Pogba
Mata

Mkhitaryan
Rashford
Lingard

----

Would of liked Martial over Lingard, reckon he could destroy Ajax's weak fullbacks but hey ho, no Fellaini, not all bad.

I'll be so happy if this is true

Problem with Smalling he gets caught under the balk to much for me. And ***** himself when anyone goes near him when he has the ball. Jones is a better defender for me. If Smalling plays I guarentee Ajax will be all over him with there super high press.

Always has been and always will be a disaster waiting to happen. Right from day 1, you seen Smalling playing as an opposition fan you were happy there was at least one weak link.

Always struck me as getting way more slack than he ever deserved down to being a Ferguson buy.

Can't see Mata starting in CM. No chance!

Not CM, advanced midfielder, ahead of Pogba and Herrera.

That is what the leaked team was due to how they are training, so I think it's accurate. We'll soon see. Would be very happy with that lineup though, apart from Lingard, but his workrate is always good in a final.

Yeah, Smallings no world beater, but he's still very good defender. **** on the ball, but good defender. I would much rather have him than, lets say, Evans who has 2 footed, good on the ball, good passing range, but terrible defender. If they press you, either hoof it or play it short to midfielders. Its not your job to playmake. If you can do it, thats ******* great. People talk way too much about defenders and their ability with the ball.

Tbh he can't defend of late either. His form this season has been night and day compared to last.

So true Scouse, football can bring people together, but it can also divide. Too much is made of the rivalry between the two cities (it is the same to a lesser extent with Leeds) by people many of whom have never been to the North West think is the be all and end all. Fans who only get their fix from the media be it written, broadcast or published online. Manchester and Liverpool grew together in the industrial revolution and share a common bond in the rivers which are the lifeblood of the region. Life is more than kicking around a bag of air it is about people who breathe the same air and live the same lives.
