The Manchester United Thread

United fans sad to see Fellaini leaving... sign of the times.. shows how much we've fallen that's for sure.

Each to their own, Tuanzebe was great when given opportunities latter end of season Mike against Arsenal and co.

Need to go all out for Renato Sanchez now to replace Fellaini, as well as a DM coming in. Im assuming we was after a DM anyway before Fellaini going so we need 2 now. If Bayern are willing to do a loan to buy then I'd snap their hand off.

a DM and Sanches would be a great ending to this window for us, but doens't Sanches want to leave the bench at Bayern to get playtime?
Can he get as much playtime as he want from us?
I hope Mou can convince him!

I dont see why not with all the games this season. If we have a midfield 3, Herrera could easily play the DM in a carrick style with Renato box to box and Pogba freedom to get forward. Id love to see that.

Why would any want Sanches on loan for a season? And especially after the season he's just had. Don't understand that at all!

I dont understand how do you don't grasp it. Its got **** all to do with "how far we've fallen" It means we are short staffed in midfield, rubbish player or not.

We're not if we use Tuanzebe and TFM as well as bring in Matic for example. We've tons of versatile players who can fill in midfield if need be.

We need one don't get me wrong, but two is just a pure bonus, not needed necessarily.

Less risk than a straight buy deal given his last season. But we'd want Sanches for everything he has demonstrated before moving to Bayern. Which was potential to be one of the best CM's in world football and he is built like an absolute tank.

I remember the Euros when he was going on these runs and shrugging off people like they wasn't even there. A lot of talent and potential, someone we should definitely have an interest in.

So you trust Periera to play 48 games if Pogba or Herrera gets injured or need a rest, loss of form?

We don't need more potential.

More than Fellaini. But you're missing the point. We have TFM, Tuanzebe, Blind all as rotative options in the squad. They can all be slotted in midfield if absolutely need be.

In an ideal world we'd get a DM and Sanches on loan like someone pointed out.

Pretty sure Carrick / Herrera / Blind & Jones can all play in front of the back four just sitting before you have to scrap Pogba or the kids, seems enough to me to cover Fellani.

The only thing non of them or Sanches give you is the mighty physical presence Fellani has, and lets face it, is sometime very much needed in some games (sometimes never but its an option you are losing nonetheless).

Are you mad? Did you see him before he went to Bayern and for Portugal? One bad season doesnt make him a bad player. All that potential is still there. If its a loan with an option to buy why wouldnt you take that chance? Theres no obligation to buy and your getting a trial run with potentially one of the best young players in the world barring last season.

They apparently want 10m Euros for a loan and a future fee of around 45m Euro's. So around £9m to try him out then just over £40m for one of the best young players in world football all going well. Thats a steel in todays market.

I dont know how anyone wouldnt want to get him for a deal like that.

Here is the problem. The market is as it is. If a player is being priced like that, its reflective of his quality/potential. Do you honestly think Bayern are stupid enough to let him go on the cheap?

Not really potential though is it? If he plays how he played before going to Bayern, and how he plays for Portugal, he ***** all over Fellaini even now. Thats without him getting a **** of a lot better. No brainer. If it doesnt work out he goes back to Bayern. But I honestly think that Mourinho really likes him and would get the best out of him.

Fellaini's an odd one. You hate how **** he is, you hate how he got waayyy too many nods, you hate how he's prone to braindead decisions that can cost points.... but through gritted teeth you sorta commend how he always gives 100%, and he is a bit of a tactical pocketknife/plan B.

I've been waiting for this day for so long, but now that it's here, it's not like "YES" it's more like "OK, I never really liked you, but cheers for those few headers, that chest down to Mata in the FA Cup final, and good luck at your new club".

Carlo said yesterday that would be happy to keep him and are looking at a loan deal.

They no longer want to sell him

Possibly not. Im only going off the numbers rumoured. That would be down to Ed to negotiate the deal, but considering the future fee would be negotiated before the loan starts, there will be room to move. If anybody can get a deal even close to what has been said its a bargain.
