The Manchester United Thread

Spurs 2-3 down, wouldn't rule them out forcing a late equalizer that would see them go to extra time.

Every little helps.

******. Tottenham went out.

And Everton move onto 23 season and counting.

Mixed night. When's the draw? Now?

*Edit* NM. It's another joke draw tomorrow with Tuffnel and Dawson. SMH.

Confirmed Kane out of Spurs match.

Just seen that on sky.
I didn't have much confidence in getting a result tomorrow, but that news has brightened the outlook (only a tiny amount though).

Sorry for your injury Harry... But football is football.

God Utd drop lucky.

L'pool's best player/ difference maker Mané out the other week. Tottenham's this. Next week I'm expecting Hazard or Morata to go down for Chelsea!

Pogba isn't that level of a consistent game changer.

Struggle to see 'Spurs scoring now tomorrow. Here's to a draw regardless.

Mourinho, "Jones is good, he is really ready. Eric, let's see with one more training session."

Mourinho on Old Trafford fear factor, "I don't think it's a fear factor, I just think normally we have good performances at home."

Mourinho on Matic, "I have the player that I want to have, I have the player that I didn't think it was possible to get."

Mourinho on Shaw, "Football is full of examples of a lack of character, in this case Luke Shaw was just being honest."

Any claims that Paul Pogba will be back this week banished by Jose Mourinho...will be back at some point in November #MUFC

Manchester United have now officially been world club champions twice following a ruling by Fifa on Friday.

The council of the sport's world governing body said it had officially recognised the winners of the Intercontinental Cup, which was staged between 1960 and 2004, as club world champions.

The competition was usually played between the winners of the European Cup and South America's Copa Libertadores but was dogged by violence, disagreements over the format and disinterest from European teams. Liverpool, for example, refused to play Argentina's Boca Juniors in 1977 and 1978.

British clubs had a very poor record in the competition, with Celtic, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool (twice) and Aston Villa all losing finals before United finally beat Brazil's Brazilian side Palmeiras in 1999.

You, along with a vast majority of others (United fans included) seriously underestimate Pogba's influence in this team. Yes, he's not the direct game changer like the names mentioned, but he's much more than that; he's the glue. He's the difference between us being fluent, and looking like our midfield and attack never played together before.

I wasn't deeminging Pogba. Just saying as you noted he's nottin' like as key a loss as a Mane or Kane to their teams.

Lallana would be our equivalent in there.

Just as long as when it is the Manchester Derby City have, De Bryune, Jesus and Aguero out then things will definitely mean God is a Red Devil (mind you I would settle just to have De Bryune out he is the one who makes city tick not the strikers).

I'd say he's as key. Lose Lukaku? Sound, move Rashford or Martial up top.

Lose Pogba? That's huge. A game changer from CM who bosses all physical battles I've seen him since returning, can beat men at will, be an outlet on the break, this on top of his goals, assists and general control of midfield?! We haven't anyone that matches what he brings to the side, not anywhere near it. It'd be like City losing De Bruyne, but even at that, it's not doing it justice, I'd say Pogba's more pivotal to us than him to them.

I would say Pogba is the player I would least want injured by a mile and thats only as De Gea is the best keeper in the world right now, without him it would be even more. There is a huge difference in the team with him and without him he helps make everyone tick and can split the defence with a pass better than anyone we have. Just look at our last few games without him against Pool we offered nothing against Benfica we didn't really come that close to scoring or make a good chance. It shows that we scored from a keeper mistake on a wide free kick and Rashford shooting from a corner was close to our next best effort. then Huddersfield where we had 78% possession but didn't really do much with it. Without him we just look and perform much worse
