The Manchester United Thread

How was that not a penalty by Smalling on Maguire? That's blatant.

For all Utd's missed chances, that's a stonewall penalty Leicester doubtless will feel cost them the game.

That's a hot take and a half. They should be more than happy they sneaked out with a draw, I don't think they'll feel robbed in the slightest going off what they deserved

All relative though isn't it?

You get a clear penalty turned down, no matter how under the cosh you've been, you're gonna' feel hard done to.

How often do you see the attackers win penalties via defenders using them for leverage? If in the opposite box, free out 99 times out of 100, but they're rarely given at the other end.

Trust me, Leicester players/fans will be drinking tonight like a victory, they won't give that incident a second thought. Just wonder how on earth they got out of that with a point, as they neck their pints

He's not using him for leverage. He's flat out holding him down and stopping Maguire going the ball. Doesn't make it right/ acceptable because they aren't often given.

No debate even off a few highlights Utd should have won the game. But that piece of luck certainly went in your favour and the shoe on the other foot I would imagine I'd be reading Moss being called all sorts in here.

But hey, I'm more than happy with L'ppol's first half the year to argue the toss so I wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Watch the replay. He's doing the same thing to Matic.

When we went 2-1 up I backed us to win 4-1. Then lingard missed that chance. Straight away I said to my son there's 10 mins left we will go defensive now and they will score in injury time. So ******* predictable. The amount of points we have dropped by shutting up then conceding late is unbelievable. Yes today we made enough chances and should have won 6-1 but you can see it coming mile off every game. It's pathetic. I said before the game I really don't want to watch us anymore because all the excitement has gone and this is exactly why. I know what **** im gonna waste 2 hours watching before a ball has even been kicked. I've had enough

Unfortunately it's the Mourinho way and his downfall. Like you say it has happened a lot conceding late goals under his management due to dropping deep in last few mins needlessly inviting pressure. Especially last season I recall it costing us points on quite a few occasions.

That's not to say the game should not of been killed off sooner and there is a large portion of blame on the players for yesterday.

Poor from De Gea during the 2nd goal. He gets far too married to this whole schtick about always staying up and saving everything with his legs, if he comes out and gets a better angle he saves it.

You know you're the best keeper in the world when people stick that goal to you.

Manchester United presented an offer and pushing for Umaro Embalo, and Benfica warming to a sale for around €13/14m. (link: http://sportwitness.co.uk/man-unite...alks-confirmed-agent-insistence-old-trafford/) sportwitness.co

A fair few reports reporting this in Portuguese press today. A Benfica lad on Reddit said Guzman who we signed from Atletico Madrid has been key for this deal being close to done. This kid is one scary talented winger.

Just seen that on Sky Sports.
What an interesting lineup.

Is Martial injured? He's not even on subs bench, and Rashford is starting (especially after a few poor decisions of his against Leicester)

I'm glad it's only sport XD

You have to laugh at these 'top players' sometimes.

Great free kick though. Pretty much the bex against Greece goal
