And kagawa,hernandez,welbeck go where ?

Hernandez hasn't featured as much this season so his role will be the same as last year,

Kagawa, Nani, Young, Valencia, Welbeck will all be used in rotation and used with the amount of games united have being in every competition

it shows how good man united have it when people are possibly disappointed with the signing of Van Persie.. i would give anything to sign Rvp.

But still not addressing the weaker area of the squad.

I just think this is a smokescreen to sign other player. When was the last time SAF confirmed making a bid?

Nasri, last year.

This isn't of his own doing. Arsenal deliberately made it public.

Hopefully he is still quietly chasing midfield targets.

I won't be disappointed if we sign him, I just don't want anybody to leave.and we need a cm.may I add it is very nice to see a Liverpool fan expressing their true opinion.

In all honesty, RVP could improve nearly any team in the world and I think despite what a few united fans are saying (understandably), he would probably be better than all bar one (Rooney) of their strikers and therefore he would definitely be a good addition no doubt.

On the other hand, Hernandez, who I rate right up there, could hardly get a game this season and Welbeck, while not quite there yet has the quality to be amazing so I can totally understand their qualms, centre mid (a Scholesque player) is what they're crying out for.

Not a few, quite a lot. Not to mention it also impedes Welbeck, who is a rising star. Expensive, injury prone, one great season in 8. Frankly not even a must buy. Firepower has never been an issue for United.

I know highly unlikely just yet but maybe fergie thinking of rooney as CM as he has stated before he will/could end up playing him there

De gea
rafeal-smalling-vidic-evra
carrick-rooney
nani-kagawa-young
van persie

Like i said unlikely would not moan if we signed rvp would preffer natural CM.

I'm sure Rooney could do a job almost anywhere on the pitch but he'd be wasted at centre mid (played it once of twice for you this season did he not°?

Agree with everything you have said, but I maintain that he is a world class striker. Keeping him on the pitch and off the physio bench is indeed the problem - take a look at his scoring record when he has been fit, he would have been having seasons like this one all the time otherwise. He'd be a great addition to your team but he is a nice to have and not a need to have.

Remember him saying Nasri will sign for City, after chasing him for few weeks, forget about him totally. Looks like we won't bid as much Arsenal wants.

I feel SAF don't see our midfield as problem at all. We have Carrick and he plays Scholes whenever he can, also we have Anderson, Cleverley, Giggs. So maybe SAF doesn't see this as problem at all.

Hernandez didn't play much because he was injured a lot. If fit, it will be waste of Welbeck and Hernandez's talents to bench them, not to forget Kagawa whom we signed to play behind the striker.

I agree we would probably keep him much fitter than Arsenal did (their medical dept is either very unlucky, or utterly *****).

World Class? I'd say so. Still not a priority, and should not be signed if there is a cost to central midfield.

That worries me, because it clearly is an issue. That midfield got torn up by Bilbao using the same kind of approach we loved to use 2006-2009 : when we lost the ball, press high and hard with bags of aggression.

I think RVP was fit for 18 months, so maybe he is finally completely fit. Still not the signing we need.

dont forget powell, tunnicliffe, petrucci will all be floating round first team this season, im sure fergie has this season already planned out game by game already i love that about him as he is always thinking 3,4,5 matches ahead with squad selection and so.

We will get torn apart by any team that presses high up the pitch and the team that is good on the ball, so if we face Juve, I can see us struggling like we did against Bilbao.

Only reason I can think of is, he rates Cleverley very much (Which we all) and trusts Anderson to finally come good. Still we don't have anyone to play if Carrick is injured. Or maybe he sees Jones as CM.

If we do end up with no CM then hopefully we give chances to Petrucci, Tunnicliffe in few games.

And 2006-07 was some season, just amazing the way we counter attacked with Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Saha (as focal point). It was the best football we played in the last decade.

Like I said in my post, I would love if we give chances to Petrucci, Tunnicliffe. Yeah forget about Powell. Maybe someone to look out for this season.

Think these 3 could become future stars and have bags of potential and like you said could also use jones in there and fingers crossed fletch can pull through.

It's bizarre, because our shape post Bilbao was clearly a reaction to that, and wanting to go back to that of 2006-2009. And he more than anyone knows that it was based on a ruthless tough to break down defensive central 4 plus keeper. So either he is hugely gambling on what we having coming good in a spectacular way, or he is tracking other players.

Or maybe he has big hopes on our reserve players to come good. Yeah very risky, could back fire big time. And if Carrick gets injured then we are done.
