Watching the Serbia game, Savic reminds me very much of Pogba, always trying to play between the lines and positioning himself in the last third. Can't see both of them playing together.

Not to judge him on this game. But he’s been pretty meh. Not the sort of CM we need as a priority imo.

I really like Golovin, some of his crosses were on point and just seems to have a good all-round game. But still realistically we have other priorities.

Like Mike said if we our summer window ends up being: -

Alex Sandro, Dalot, Fred + CB and LB, I'll be relatively happy. (Providing we don't lose Martial, if we do need to replace him I think).

Alex Sandro is the dream

Golovin would be a good squad option but rather Pereira get the chance. Will do well at Juve. Fred, Dalot a LB and comandi g CB will be more than happy with that. Then Darmian, Blind, a CB out the door. Tuanzebe, TFM, Periera and maybe Mitchell back in the squad.

Even if Blind stays I wouldn't mind too much because he is so flexible and a great squad player. Rare to come across but wouldn't begrudge if he did move because too good to be on the bench every week really.

Definitely Pereira needs a good shot this season though, idk if Mourinho fancies him enough though, time will tell.

Would not mind Blind staying either. But can’t see it with latest reports from Di Marzio etc.

Thought the same about Periera but he’s always insisted there is no problem with Mourinho and has been in contact with him throughout the season. And seems keen to fight for a place here.

My prediction is City dominating for 2-3 more years until Guardiola gets bored.

I know it will never happen, but I would genuinely love to see what Pep could do with a smaller team. it would just be really fascinating and if it would even be possible. I have my doubts but it would be a fun real life challenge almost FM-esque.

I think that would be an astonishing window tbh

We're in the exact same boat as City last summer. Plenty of attacking talent that if played properly is more than enough. Problem is defense and transition. Go out and spend big on decent full backs that set a base for the attackers to play as City did. The full backs seem to be the key. We need to add a bit of class to midfield from losing Carrick/Fellaini, but Fred is pretty much done and I'd like to add one more if possible plus a first choice world class CB.

IMO Savic plays in more advanced positions than Pogba, very often surges in to the box. I'd compare Savic more to Fellain (obviously miles better) and Pogba is more of a playmaker. I think they'd work well together with Matic in between.

I like Savic as a player. Had a great season and was good today in parts. First group game so everybody wants to keep tight and not give anything away so all in all I think he did well. Good feet to get into space with the ball when he has 2 or 3 players around him and always looks for that defense splitting pass. One thing we need is somebody that will get the ball and look to play it forward quickly. Only problem is getting the opportunity if Pogba gets more of a free role this season. Its likely everything will go through him if Fred takes up the Pogba role from the season gone.

Rather sign a successor to Matic this season. Unless McTominey or TFM Mourinho seems good enough in the long run.

Yeah, tbf, need another CM, if only for rotation. In case Matic picks up an injury, pretty much screwed, not back-up for him. Out of the three starters (Fred-Matic-Pogba), we only have Herrera (and probably McTominay) in CM positions.

Alex Sandro, CB and another CM for me, and this window is the best we have had in recent times.

Commanding CB and LB top priority this window. We can use Herrera, McTominey, Periera, TFM and as of now still Fellaini.

Eh, neither of Pereira or TFM has been tested at CM though, right? Plus, Pereira might again demand to go on loan. TFM, I dunno, RB backup? Or CB backup? Heck, he could be a younger Blind, the amount of options he gives. But, for a 3 midfield combination (which I assume we are using), neither of those options fill you with confidence. Heck, a back-up CM for me is almost on the same level as a CB. (unless we are selling CBs this season).

Periera has played a lot at CM and impressed there under Mourinho playing in the deeper role. But he is more of a Pogba alternative. TFM was a beast at youth level at DM until he was played at RB to give him games at first team level.

I agree we need to sell a CB and lose Fellaini to bring in another CB and CM. Can’t let the likes of TFM, Periera, Tuanzebe go to waste though even Mitchell!
