Another thing that has really been annoying lately, is the constant persistence to play out from the back, despite teams like Chelsea and Southampton penning us into our own half. We're not able to beat the press many many times.
I personally think we were equally as bad vs Burnley at OTHe's balled today right up and the players have been totally off it from the start.
A very embarrassing day for us... one of the worst United performances I've seen in a long time. Since the 4-0 Everton defeat maybe.
I said this in the days before he needed heavy rotation or pick the strongest possible team/formation. Unfortunately it was niether one or the other. That’s my only complaint. Disappointing result and performance. Top 4 was always the priority just need to get it done now no excuses.Yes I absolutely can fault OGS. Bruno Fernandes has already shown signs of match fatigue vs Southampton and crystal palace. What does he do? He not only leaves him on against crystal palace to play the full 90 mins with 3 subs to space but also plays him 3 days later vs Chelsea (a game he's likely going to finish 90 mins too). We have West Ham at Old Trafford. We know they're basically just going to sit deep and counter. We need him at 100% for games like these yet we're barely going to get 70% or benched.
If we don't make the top 4, it's 100% on OGS
Quick question if you had the choice of buying Maguire again would you do so?

I wouldnt buy him for that much in the first place.Quick question if you had the choice of buying Maguire again would you do so?
Fair enough his strengths work at its best when playing counter-attacking which has been the MO for the majority of the season. The question becomes when controlling possession and pushing the defensive line higher up the pitch that all his flaws become evident.Hard to say, cos the season objective rests on CL, without Maguire our defence wouldn't even have got us this far.

Edit: Forgot to add if Ole is going to transition to a side that is more controlling he does have the players now e.g Pogba back and Fernandes. Can he ask Maguire to play against his strengths?
A CB partnership is worth its weight in gold Bruce and Pallister were never the best compared to their peers at the time but both of them were outstanding as a partnership. Right now well since the restart, Lindelof has been the better half and personally for me would work better in a side that has aspirations of challenging for the top. Maguire for me seems like your Andy Carroll moment where there's a decent player in there with clear strengths but you have to convince yourself that he is the answer when it's not.Usually if you have one defender who covers it's not an issue, right now him and Lindelof doesn't work well I agree....

Just gotta forget today the players have and get ready for a tough WHU game. This season could and looks like it will be a good full first season for Ole incharge.
