The Manchester United Thread

Idk if he's a good enough passer of the ball to play as a 6. His pass percentage completion last season was 82% I believe. His main strength is his off the ball runs in the sense that he's quite similar to Thomas Muller and would offer us something different to Bruno.
Not permanently but could rotate with Matic against the lesser teams hopefully

On Upamacano clause.

Upamacano news really blew up last night with the Telegraph, Kajumba, Times, Ramano, MEN, Ogden again all reporting our interest in him. Along with the clubs in talks at selling 3 CBs, Smalling being the first. Be a great signing but let’s see. Got a feeling Utd gonna be very very busy the next week or so. Hopefully with outs not just ins!

If we get Upamecano in too, that'll be fantastic news. Add in a RW, and we genuinely do not have a glaring weakness anywhere, unlike the previous few seasons. And we will have game changing options from the bench (in Greenwood, van de Beek, maybe James for counters and Fred for pressing, while Lingard can cover a lot of areas (but not do too much, but what have you).

We can improve the quality of the players across the pitch, and we need to further improve the players we already have but it'll be a fantastic start. Add to that, the youth in Mengi, Tuanzebe, Garner, Galbraith and Laird and that's a pretty good mix to go into the new season.

But I dunno, not sure of these Upamecano rumours. By all accounts, he was Bayern bound next season, despite their embarrassment of riches as both Boateng and Alaba maybe gone.

Yeah seems to good to be true. Been trying to sign him since was 16 even had 2 trials at the club. So you never know. Funnily enough we are in advanced talks with ***** Kambula the next big French CB talent. 16 yr old from Sochaux. Had a bid of 1.9m turned down and have returned with a 2.1m bid so fingers crossed it turns out better than Upamacano this time.

That’s the good thing about what Ole is doing here building a young squad that should show natural improvements season on season till they reach there peak.

Be interesting to see what couple of youth start breaking through this year as Garner, Levitt, Galbraith, Bernard, Laird all seem destined for loans.

Donny van de Beek signed a five-year deal with #mufc on Monday after completing his medical last night, worth £100,000-per-week. United have the option to extend the contract into a sixth year. #udlatest [The Athletic]

Upamecano could dominate the next decade. He is truly a once-in-a-generation talent. Incredible news.

Wich are quite literally incredible, since most of us would put Upamecano in the 100 million range.

Yeah, these rumors say we're "ready to lodge in a bid of £37 million". Funny enough, that's even less than his release clause...before he signed a new contract lol.

Def not happening.

Yeah, a bid like that would be disrespectful even.

Yeah not totally convinced on the Upacamano talks at the price reported. I believe we are genuinely interested but will likely cost closer to 50/60m euros. Think Utd want to try getting it done before it becomes a war next summer. We have done this in the past a few times.
