He really is a snide, horrible *****. Who isn’t half the coach he’s made out to be.

I can’t wait for his meltdown next season when he can’t work out with Haaland and whoever else on board, Jurgen’s Reds are still sat on his shoulder not able to shake us.

Pep is an egomaniac. Notice how he says "i destroyed them" first, only to say "we destroyed them" after.

In fact, Barcelona only made it to the 08-09 UCL final thanks to one of the worst refereeing in the tournament's history. And we were better in the first half of that final, but Eto'o found an gem of a goal and changed the curse of the match. Only to be imediately thrown out by Pep - like many others (Ibra, Touré, Fabregas, Mandzukic, etc.).

Pep can't have players with strong personalities in his dressing room because his teams post-Barcelona - and even Barça, at some extent, Messi aside - are all about him and his system, not about the players he manages. That's why City can't make it in Europe: in the big moments, when it's up to the players, they always bottle up because the individuals are not used to rely on themselves.

So it's better for him to reminisce the time when he had all-timers like Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Eto'o, Dani Alves, etc. than to explain why City were kicked out of Europe by the likes of Monaco, Lyon and Tottenham.
 
He's also a specialist at cheating. He struggles to win without it.

A convicted drugs cheat as a player. At a club that openly cheats FFP now because they can.

Really unlikeable man.

Neil Ryan leaves Manchester United for a job within the FA after 19 years at the club. He’s helped develop 39 players to make senior debuts. Very highly respected coach, most recently assistant/ manager at U23s.

There are a few games I’d want to replay and that final vs Barcelona in 2009 is one of them. I do wonder how it would’ve turned out had Ronaldo buried one of the chances he got or if we generally showed a bit more clinical edge.

Darren Fletcher being suspended for that game didn’t help but alas

The shifting of power at #mufc in the last 12 months and the huge number of departures have left John Murtough in a position of enormous power - he has been a key figure in appointing Ralf Rangnick and then Erik ten Hag and his staff. Also revamping the whole academy and setting up and establishing the women’s team [@Telegraph]
