The Manchester United Thread

This game was eerily similar to that 4-0 defeat against Everton after Solskjaer’s permanent contract.

Brighton is really going under the rug. All talk is about Manchester United bad game, not how brilliant and steady Brighton has been all season.

I’d also argue this was probably their easiest game all season. We barely laid a glove on them

Embarrassing

Well arguably the most embarrassing season any major club has had in the PL era.

You can't spend all Utd did in the summer, with all the hype of Ronaldo alone leading to mad talk of titles, and completely and utterly **** the bed and not get a CL place at the very least without it being such. I't s been an unmitigated disaster that's gone from title hype to finishing with the lowest points total Utd have had in the PL era if I'm not mistaken? Like Rodgers should have Gerrard's last game when we got walloped 6 at Stoke, Wreck-It Ralph should be fixing to hand in his resignation after the Palace game having failed so spectacularly like his predecessor to historically bad ends for Utd in the PL.

Absolutely disgraceful from every last one of them concerned. On and off the pitch.

That game summed up the season totally uninspiring (and that's putting it mildly), the only good thing is there is now only one game left. There are definitely some players who will be staying at the club who need a long hard look at themselves and their lack of effort this season. On a positive note at least for me, Altrincham are safely mid-table in the National League and have announced they will be going professional next season. Watch out CIty and United the Robins are coming!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Be interesting to see what changes are coming after Rangnicks comments after the game. What he and the board have spoke about. Didn’t seem transfer related. So expect the staff changes to be coming thick and fast in all areas.

Utd women lose there last game 2-4 to league winners Chelsea. Great game where Utd fave there all but ultimately Chelsea quality and depth shone through. Sam Kerr with 2 goals for Chelsea you will struggle to see better at any level inc mens. 2 absolute WC volleys.

All in all a good campaign and more progression from the women. Especially after losing 4/5 top players before the season started and had a raft of key injuries at the back.

Definately need to keep a hold of what we have especially Battle at RB and Groenen at CM who’s contracts are up. And we need some serious investment in a few quality additions to help us get into the CL spots next season. Only our results against the top 3 let us down.

Ralf really making the case that giving him multi-million consultancy is a splendid idea.
As a manager (interim) he’s been terrible results wise. Not sure it’s mainly his fault with this lot of pretenders. But there’s no doubt he is having an effect and the changes are being rung off the pitch.

Its a complete mess. His tactics were terrible, couldn't motivate the players ( though a lot of that lies on the board and players) and even his team selection is questionable.
But regardless how much someone dislikes the manager, you can't be half arsed when playing at Manchester United. If playing at United does not motivate you enough to run for 90 minutes, fight to the teeth and actually try to play football and take some responsibility, then I would like to see all of those players gone. Manager is there to guide you, but there needs to be "pashun" and desire. Bar few players, no one have that. Its going to take years before all of the rot is gone, if they do the things correctly now.

Edit: The point is - As a manager, he failed. But his strengths are ideas, always were. Some of them stick, some of them don't, its up to ten Hag to do with them whatever he pleases.

When you have squad who is are already dysfunctional. You really think that they give rats *** to play for Ralf. Everyone knows he is gone and all will be refreshed in summer with new manager. Of course this is not right attitude, but definitely has effect on overall moral, belief in tactics and vibe in the dressing room. Also it is so announced that Ralf is just consultant who will work from Germany or national team he was linked to. Why to play for interim manager who will not stay anyway, players are not really used to it.

Not just at Utd mate. That should be a given with EVERY player. ANYWHERE. The bear minimum from a professional should be to leave the pitch having left nothing on it.

Sadly, theres too many players who disgracefully don’t get that and are an embarrassment to the privileged profession they are in.

Yeah I'm gonna agree, they should have waited with ETH news, until season was wrapped up. It always backfires when clubs announce new manager while the season is still ongoing.
