The Manchester United Thread

Makes sense as we are short at STR. And he’s showing good improvement.

Joe Hugill staying at #MUFC rather than go on loan. Set to sign new contract next week to 2026, plus option. Lots of interest from League 1 clubs, including Carlisle, but Erik ten Hag thinks best to develop at Carrington then evaluate in January.

Ten Hag confirms Reguilon has trained with #MUFC: "He is very experienced player, big clubs, La Liga, Premier League, he has a very good background, he can play intense football. We had a problem with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia injured, we coped well in an emergency situation."

Ten Hag on whether Amrabat would complete window: "I think we have done good business, we constructed a strong squad + we are ready for the fight." On more signings: "Potentially, yes. Could be."

Altay Bayindir update
"He will be in the squad as well, yeah, so happy, now we have to keep the group, again it's fully there, we've covered every position and we have a very good arrival in Altay."

From @ManUtd "Mason Greenwood has signed for La Liga side Getafe CF on a season-long loan. The move enables Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from Manchester United. The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition."

No loan fee involved in Greenwood’s move to Getafe from #mufc

#MUFC are covering the majority of Greenwood’s £75,000 a week wages. Getafe will make a small contribution to it

The U18 Premier League Cup returns and Manchester United take-on @ReadingFC, at Carrington. XI: Myles (GK), McAllister (C), Amass, Kingdon, Munro, Curley, Bauman, Lacey, Wheatley, Biancheri & Missin. Subs: Devaney, Byrne-Hughes, Fletcher, Sharpe & Musa. #MUFC

Currently 4-0 up

FT 4-1 (Wheatley, Biancheri x3)

McAllister would’ve been the PotM for me, but you can’t ignore Biancheri’s performance. Wheatley, Missin, Amass very good as well. And Musa helping out as a LB did very well at both ends of the pitch.

The situation is really, really bad. So first and second choice left backs are injured, and you have to play backup right back there, and that is not enough, now both first choice CDs are injured as well, and also the third choice in Lindelof might be injured. And big signing in the midfield also got injured. That's 4 starters injured. 33% of the starting 11, give or take. And then their backups are injured as well.

Potentially dire season coming.
