It's Owen's fault, Obertan got past his man, made solid cross and Owen missed empty net.Poor cross at the end don't blame Owen! Blame the frenchman!![]()
very true they nott he same with out them four players
may have been weak barca team but still had iniesta, pedro, abidal, valdes, villa, busquets, thiago, keita united also played weaker team cleverly, evans, welbeck, smalling, fabio plus subs just show our youngsters are better than theres great win imo
How the **** does you winning in a pre-season game mean that your youngsters are better than Barca's? Lmao.
Your youngsters are good, but not on the same level as Barca's.
Did you watch the game? So far our young players are more developed than their, since they have had much more game time. Hard to say who is going to be better, but right now some of ours are better than some of theirs
Yeah you're right, if Spurs were to take out Gomes, Crouch, Jenas and Hutton we might actually win somethingTake the best 4 players out of any team and they won't be the same.
Maybe the ChampionshipYeah you're right, if Spurs were to take out Gomes, Crouch, Jenas and Hutton we might actually win something
Am I missing something? Looking at your line-up, there weren't many Utd "youngsters"... Almost 21 YO Danny Welbeck, 21 YO Cleverley, 23 YO Evans are the only ones who could feasibly count as youngsters in the First XI and I wouldn't really call them youngsters myself - all had at least one full-ish season in the PL.
But - the latter two are better than for e.g. Dos Santos, although not in the same ball-park as Thiago. Not sure about Fontas - haven't seen much of him tbh, but then I don't rate Evans much at all...
If we were to directly compare Barcelona B with Utd reserves, I think the former would probably be fairly comfortable winners but Utd probably have more players further in their development (Smalling, Jones, Welbeck vs Thiago and...?)

Are you trying to say that Barcelona's B team would beat Utd's?
Surely a reserve match is what we have just seen with a few exceptions? And Man Utd won.
I hadn't realised Rooney, De Gea, Fabio, Vidic, Nani were Reserves. Or that Iniesta, Keita, Valdes, Villa were 'B' team players. It wasn't a reserve match at all. It was two under-strength sides, not Reserve sides.
They were more of a first team with a few exceptions than vice-versa.
@Sunil - De Gea isn't a youngster. He's your first choice GK, Jones I'll accept.
Not denying Utd a deserved win, just saying that a conclusion that "Utd's youngsters are better than Barcelona's" is a little wide of the mark IMO.
Oh and I don't think it is an unfair comparison. Not even saying if they played one another, Barca would easily win - just that I think player by player, they have more quality in their Reserves/Bs
What ever.. Thiago is a regular for Barca B team and U 21 Champion. If he can be considered as youngster why not De Gea.
And Barca played 6 players who started champions league finals plus Keita.. Not a reserves side..
Exactly. He's a regular for the B team and is only just starting to break through. De Gea is first choice and was at Atletico. So he's been playing FT football for at least 2 seasons.
Barca B team is not reserve team. Its comparable to team in championship. He was regular for them and also played few games for Barca. Also both are regulars for U21 team. Both are youngsters and big talents..
Barca "B" is Barca's reserves. They don't have a Reserve side apart from that - the way the Spanish league system works means that they play in Liga Adelante and act as a seperate, but affiliated club but they ARE reserves.
And 'youngster' suggests a reserve/u18 player, not a first choice player. Wilshere, for example, is no longer a "youngster" but a senior player and regular for both England and Arsenal. Thiago has played 14 times for Barca - De Gea has played over 50 times and is first choice for Utd now. Unless of course you expect Lindegaard and Kuszack to be first choice.
Pointless argument tbh - neither side was a reserve side, they were under-strength first teams with a few youngsters like Cleverley, Welbeck, Fontas, etc.
