Actually we dont play any formation. You can see Nani playing centrally most of the times, making space for Smalling to bomb forward. Young gave us width everytime, when he moved centrally there was Rooney covering up that spot. But Nani was given free role, he was everywhere.

I like our new style so so much. Anderson Cleverley compliment each other so well. Anderson played deeper and carried ball forward, then Cleverley dropped a bit deeper, Anderson was in final third playing one twos.

One thing I like a lot about Cleverley is his positioning. He gets into very good positions, plays one twos, and again will move. He is so dynamic.

Welbeck is like Tevez (Not in ability). In a way he chases every loose ball and win them back. He has boundless energy and deceptively quick. No wonder with Young, Cleverley, Welbeck we look lot sharper and quicker.

Jones is a natural leager. He is not next Terry. He is our Lucio. He can carry ball forward better than most midfielders and he is still only 19. Just wow. Him and Smalling will be our future CBs for decade.

Sadly Evans is not many mentions. He was very very good. When Jones bombed forward, Evans covered his place very well. Made few important interceptions. He was the one who was organising the defense. I was so pleased to see him getting chances and proving few doubters wrong.

Young played as if he was with United for years. I loved his work rate.

And one last thing, Nani's defensive game is so underrated. His work rate is superb. He tracks back everytime and helps his fullback. People compare him to Ronaldo and under impression that Nani's work rate is **** poor. Well its completely opposite. He is one of the hardest workers in our team..

De Gea caught everything, only missed one ball. He got huge support from Stretty end and he acknowledged them. Glad to see him keeping a clean sheet..

Dont think i mentioned a formation? We have a framework that is broadly 4-4-2, but the front 4 will take up the smart positions.

Smalling and Jones are going to be brilliant. 6 of our side tonight will play for england :)

No you didn't mention formation lol.. You mentioned about played dropping deep so I said how everyone is interchanging positions. It was so close to our 2006-07 season performance based on performance till today. Hopefully we can keep it going.

Smalling, Jones, Rooney, Welbeck, Cleverley, Young. Wow we had 6 English players starting. We are safe with even 6+5 rule :P

Not to forget Rio, Carrick..
 
loved every second of last nights game, De Gea looked a little more relaxed on the ball, I think Fergie told the back 4 to involve him in the game early on and get a bit of time on the ball... good approach!

1 or 2 dodgy saves (the one on his knees) and the Defoe yellow card! but he needs to bulk up, man up and become an EPL goalkeeper..

Cleverley and Anderson are incredible in the centre.. So glad Anderson is coming into his own, I have always been a big fan! Scholes and Carrick who?? nah just kidding...

Jones was impeccable last night, never put a foot wrong. Smalling is looking smart at Rb, Glen Johnson better watch his back... Evans had one of the best games I have seen him play in over 3 years (not to say that it was perfect, but it was better, still our week link in the team in my honest opinion)

all in all a great result and glad we kept a clean sheet at home, going to do a lot for De Gea's confidence

United for the treble!!
 
each time we play i think less and less we need another midfielder. i dont think we need anymore signings.

proved last night.defensively without rio and vidic we have jones and evans who will give fergie a selection headache.

smalling is a beast at RB and anderson is a tank in midfield this is his season!, he gets up and down boundless energy and is a perfect example of the box to box midfielder.

cleverley is technically superb. he is not scholes he is a different type of player he does not ping 50 yard passes he plays neat little one twos gets into great positions.

young has been imense since he arrived links up superbly with rooney who in turn has great link up with welbeck who is rapid!

nani is just nani drifts everywhere and will be a great season for him.

wow just thinking we still have:

rafael, fletcher, valencia, owen all to come back from injury and the likes of carrick, park, giggs, hernandez, berbatov, macheda who were not even involved. strength in depth is unreal at OT.

we are playing fantastic stuff so far its beautiful to watch.

berbatov not getting on last night.was a bit of a shock i actually think SAF sees him as 4th choice now.
 
Haha but the problem is that the players that Manchester united have might not last the distance.They have lots of energy now,but down the season,they might not last,and they do not have enough experienced players to lead the way.Furthermore,our squad is depleted as seen by today's squad.We lack enough depth !
 
U might think that we have enough reserves,but a team game is 11 players. We Need one or two more players honestly.Squad players.
 
One of the reasons we seem a bit uncertain in midfield presently is because the players around him don't quite trust Cleverley's touch yet. He often asks for the ball in tighter areas than his teammates are prepared to risk him with, the kind of spaces that Carrick wouldn't venture into, preferring to sweep play and use his long passing, and that Anderson tends to scamper out of.But the evidence so far suggests that they ought to use him more; he sees things the other midfielders don't appreciate, has a lovely timing and weight of pass, and a terrific range of first touches and flicks. It's not quite Utd's way to shape attacks through repeated cycles of central midfield possession and short passes and movements, but it's a way of playing that Cleverley's presence in the team may make advantageous. Looking forward very much to see this promising talent develop.Will take time gel in but once players start trusting cleverley he is going to be a beast!

Great atmosphere at OT last night.. streford end was rocking.. 'you'll never play barcelona' was a classic response to the '**** barcelona' chant by spurs.

turnstile 207(FAM stand) if you know where that is, kind of inbetween goals and tunnel, i didn't leave it on my seat i got in at about 7.57 and there were just non attatched. where do you sit/stand?

Young Manchester United midfielder Oliver Norwood has gone on loan to Scunthorpe until January 2.

The 20-year-old Northern Irishman could feature in Thursday's Carling Cup clash with Newcastle United.

He told League One Scunthorpe's official website: "I'm really excited to be here. I first heard about the move last Thursday but we couldn't get the deal done in time for the weekend.

"I travelled down on Monday and stayed here overnight before training for the first time on Tuesday.

"My fitness is good and I just can't wait to get on the pitch and playing.

"I spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson on Saturday morning and he said it's a really great club to come and play at.

"He said that Scunthorpe play football the right way and how good a manager Alan Knill is."

Iron boss Knill struck up a relationship with United while he was manager at Bury, where he took Nicky Ajose on loan.

Good move for him. He will get better playing in league rather than for Reserves.


Also Drinkwater has moved to Barsley on loan.

IF there was a time for utd to break that german thing or whatever it is now sign mario goetze and that will be enough for me. Not neccessarily in this window but in the next maybe. Just don't want him at madrid!

DANNY WELBECK and Tom Cleverley are to be rewarded with double-your-money five-year deals at Manchester United.


Old Trafford bosses were already preparing contract reviews, which would see their pay shoot to £40,000 a week, before Monday's heroics in the home win against Spurs.

Striker Welbeck, who scored one and crafted another in the 3-0 win, has little under two years remaining on his existing terms.
Both he and midfield ace Cleverley, who only signed a three-year extension last summer, are currently two of the lowest-paid in United's first-team squad.

But SunSport understands that the Red Devils plan to sit down with the players' respective camps over the next few weeks to sanction the improved terms. It will go a long way to protecting their investments and give further proof they have long-term futures at the Old Trafford club.

Welbeck, 20, and 22-year-old Cleverley's pay hikes will bring them in line with fellow rookie Chris Smalling, 21, who recently agreed terms until 2016.
