I'm not a united fan, but I still really hope the owners give the money up to rebuild in the summer: a club like that shouldn't be in this situation. United should dominate games like this in Europe.

Oh and a note on the game itself Llorente's goal reminded me of Van Basten- Amazing finish.

Dont need to rebuild, just need a couple of mids. People are jumping on this way too much. Same squad went to the CL final last year

I'm watching Bilbao play when they go forward and it reminds of me of how we looked at the start of the season, especially against Arsenal, but what happened? That style just completely disappeared! Maybe it was just freshness and a bit of luck, maybe I'm being overly critical now. But there is no little flicks, no forward running, no reading each others game, its almost as if they haven't been spending anywhere near the amount of time training together as they previously had been. Aargh Rant.

All we need to do is pack Javi Martinez while returning. That will do.

I think we actually do need to rebuild. Anderson is injured, Scholes is a great passer, and can help control a game but can't close down much, or tackle. Fletcher may possibly never regain his form of old.....the only midfielders we have that in my opinion can last 90 consistantly and provide good attacking threat and defensive cover are Carrick and Cleverly...the rest of our midfield.....well.....compare it to spurs....

I think we need new midfielders and a new strategy....football is moving on, the simple 4-5-1/4-4-2 days are over, look at the way Barce/ Athletic/ bayern play....it puts us to shame...I love United, but the quality of football has most definately deteriorated this season...

We dont play a simple 4-4-2, we never have. Its a fluid 4-2-3-1/4-4-2 shape.

We don't need to rebuild, and we most certainly arent going to, a lot of kneejerk reactions here. United have played some good fooball this season. Ive also seen bayern play some turgid stuff as well, same with Bilbao.

Actually we have rebuilt. Just need few final pieces to complete it. On nights like these people forget we do have very good young players. Like I said just 1 or 2 signings away, someone who is comfortable in possession when pressed.

Where's the improvement Rooney was promised 18 months ago?

EDIT

I know I'm being harsh again but ah well I'm emotional!

Premier league winners 2010-11. I dont know what more can a manager promise apart from CL.

No, not really. We need to mids at top. Ando is currently injured, so what ? He'll recover, just give him time. And you forgot Pogba. So, that leaves us Ando, Carrick, Cleverley, Pogba and 2 mids. Don't forget Park, Jones and Giggs can play there too. So, no, not really.

Yeah you know what i mean, as in another job. 2 good midfielders away.

Yeah, I agreed with you. Just added one more point.

What an half hearted performance from us. Bilbao are playing amazing game but our lack of effort is clear to see. Not that I blame them as I dont have any problem with losing this and concentrating on league games.

But atleast after this game SAF signs a good CM. We play like league 2 team when team presses.

I'd be storming out the door now if I wasn't at home.

And not watch this wonderful team?
Sure I'm upset but Bilbao are playing wonderfully. They deserve the win.

unlucky with second goal think de gea would have saved that. Think we should have had peno in first half imo!

Although disappointing, this season was a slight season of transition for United (no where near as much as Chelsea) with the blooding in of Smalling, Jones and De Gea. Also got Rafael, Welbeck and Cleverely. The future is certainly bright for United
