I won't be against it. I was saying Dembele as he was available and looked like realistic target. Given the choice I would say we should sign Fellaini and Moutinho but I'm not sure we can sign both. I was just going with realistic targets.
Because of the point that everyone has said: Why not just ignore Dembele, and get 2 defensively solid players who offer more. For example: Moutinho and Strootman, or Fellaini and Strootman, or any cominbation of those 2 players. Because while they are all unfinished, they all naturally understand the role, and can become great players in it.
You should not buy Demble on the basis that he may go onto become a good CM. I very much doubt he will. If you are buying him its for a more attacking-orientated position as compared to a double pivot
In my opinion, best signings for Man Utd would be Modric and Moutinho. A pure regista and a all-round disciplined destroyer

While you are at it, add Biscuits and Iniesta too. FYI we signed Anderson hoping he will go on to become top CM, just like how we signed Rafael, Fabio and many youngsters and few around 20 years old. It's very rare for ManUtd to sign finished products.
And I already pointed out that no matter who you sign, Dembele won't work with him. Unless you end up buying some cross between Andrea Pirlo and Sergio Busquets, playing Dembele as a central midfielder will not work:

Basically Sunil.. Your argument is buying a player on the off-chance that he might adapt to the role and become very good instead of buying players who are naturally suited to the role and will stand a much greater chance of becoming quality players
I'm not sure about it as he didn't look out of place playing as CM for Fulham, even against ManUtd at OT.
He played CM IN A 4-4-2. It is totally different to what Ferguson is asking of his central midfielders. United's formation is by all intents and purposes a 4-2-3-1, in which the two central midfielders have to position themselves deep and form a box with the centre-backs. A midfield two in a 4-4-2 is all about energy. United's midfield two is about positional discipline, sensible passing, and setting tempos.

No. Never I said that. All I said was Dembele was available so we should sign him. Not Dembele and other CM rather than 2 CMs (Like Mike described).
I never said anything against signing Fellaini, Strootman. Signing 1 CM is realistic target but signing 2 was sort of dream. So since Dembele was available I wanted to sign him as well.
And I dont know if you have noticed, but we have somewhat suffered because of it. Hence the long standing need to buy actual centre mids.
