The Manchester United Thread

You can also twist the stat of chance creation saying ManUtd have higher caliber players and the game flows more through them and we don't depend on LB to whip in cross everytime.

I agree stat won't reveal complete story but Baines is not lot better than Evra as mentioned many times here (after poor 1 nad half season people can't see what Evra brings to our team), Evra is superb in the air and with Rafael and Baines as our full backs there are more chances that we will be murdered aerially and for sure if Vidic is not playing.

I don't think we need a Left-Back, but if we can get a good price for both of them together (Fellaini + Baines) I wouldn't mind too much.

Personally I'd rather just go for Kondogbia and forget both of them. But that's for another day ;)

Fellaini for sure and like GC said Baines is worth lot more to Everton than what we are ready to pay. Which means we may end up over paying for him. If we have a problem in the left back area then over paying is not a problem but Evra is our leader, massive influence in dressing room and after the managerial and staff changes we need our senior players to lead from the front. Rio, Vida, Giggs, Evra, Carrick are very vital this season.

Fellaini and one more CM would be great. With Madrid signing Bale for ridiculous price, hopefully they will sell Modric.

Can't see Modric wanting to move this season. Ancelotti likes him. he started at the weekend for Madrid.

Ronaldo, Rooney, Kagawa behind RVP.
Nani so inconsistent.

People forget the 2 most recent seasons where he stayed injury free with long runs in the first team, he won our player of the year once, and made by far the most assists across both seasons.

Should have won PFA player of the year too, shame he wasn't even in the top 6.

People keep on repeating the inconsistent part, not sure why. Maybe because he tries to take on his man and beat him to create chances which sometimes result in loss of possession.

Anyone watch Revista La Liga last night? They all reckon Ronaldo will sign a new contract and Madrid.

Not really a fan of the Baines bid, don't think we need him and don't think he'll improve us that much but if the price is right I won't argue about it as he is a top left-back.

Fellaini is a very good midfielder. Aggressive, strong, tall, good on the ball, great first touch and excellent in the air. Offers something very different to what we already have too and more importantly strengthens our central midfield.

Can't really complain at the bids, although we all know we'll have to cough up a lot more than £28M for the both of them.

I have heard a few times today from different places that we are about to bid for Sothampton F.C LB Luke Shaw. Heard he is promising. Anyone else heard these rumors or if there is any truth to them?

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure he snubbed them when he signed professional contract with saints might have been Chelsea though I'm not 100 percent.

After the series of **** ups Atkinson is again appointed as ref for United Vs Chelsea game.

Manchester United boss David Moyes is aware there is a 'need' to bring in new players but insists he will not be pressurised.
Moyes is yet to make his first signing as United boss after seeing a joint bid for Everton pair Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines rejected on Monday.
But the former Toffees manager, who also failed to lure Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, says he will not sign players because others say so.
"There is a need to do it but there's no pressure to do it," said Moyes.
"It's something we've been talking about it since I took the job on July 1.
"I have an idea of where I'd like to strengthen but we won't do it because people tell us we should be signing players.
"If the right players are available great, but if not the first thing we'll do is encourage our own young players in the squad to do as well as they did last year."
Moyes confirmed United have the funds to compete in the transfer market, saying: "Yes I do believe there is value in the market. But we've only targeted certain players.
"We don't have a big, big list because there are only certain quality players we want to bring in to the club."

Geoffrey Kondogbia's release clause is reportedly £17m. What we waiting for?

Agent that has player's longterm interest in mind? That's a first ;)

Yes but United are a bigger club (no offence Sevilla) and quite clearly we are in desperate need of a midfielder. So this would be perfect for him I would think.

Anyone know if Bild is reliable? They report a fee of £38m for Ozil has been agreed between us and Madrid. Can't see it personally but thought I'd ask.
