The Manchester United Thread

1. We have 200m to spend on players?! Ill believe that when I believe pigs can fly. Its just PR I fear.
2. Even if we do have the dosh will class players want to join a team not in the CL as I fear we will be?
3. If class players join will MOYES be able to motivate them and organise them tactically. Ive seen almost nothing this season to fill me with any sort of hope on this.
4. Last nite flippin eck! I now start watching matches KNOWING we ll lose even against hopeless teams such as Sunderland! Nothing, not refereeing (as MOYES was moaning about post match) NOTHING can be an excuse for such things.
5. I dont like the stuff MOYES publicly states (starting from that brilliant "We have Rooney for when RVP gets injured). They re cliche ridden and mostly mean nothing but: Im not sure what Im doing ...

GOD HELP US.

1) Ignore the PR, but we do have a shitload of cash (more like 90-110) between now and summer. There is a 100m creditline, but unless we are buying a top 10 player, assume that will never ever be used (its how we would have paid for Bale. 2) yes, if you offer enough money. 3) Yes, actually tactically we are a lot better than you give credit for, but we suffer because we still don't have a creative CM, and we don't have RVP bailing us out. 4) The players are getting away too easy atm, some awful performances, and no we cant blame them for not being motivated, because one they are professional, two some are playing for their United careers, three, many are have been a here a long time, they should be able to turn up for the club regardless, if they cant maybe its time they did leave. 5) he never ever said the rooney stuff, but I agree he needs to work on his media side.

Coentrao and a CM, like Cabaye. Finish 4th, LC final, UCL Quarter final. Would be a good recovery and inline with pre season expectations tbh. Spend a shed load in the summer. That was pretty much the aim before things got ugly.

Top 4 is critical ... Everything else can take a hike. With Top 4 in he bag and the amount of spare cash you lot have, I am willing to bet you guys will be back to the top next season. Don't get into Top 4 and it really could go either way

Yes,

A.C Milan are in much worse position then you are and they've managed signing Adil Rami ( on loan, but should be permanent by summer ) and Keisuke Honda. Also looks like Fernando Reges will be joining aswell.

I think United really need to move decisively now... Matic is avaikable. Benefica aren't exactly in great financial shape. Offer a premium and snag him. He will be a huge boost to your midfield. Now is not the time to go looking for players in the bargain bins ...

They are good players but not exactly top class are they? Reminds me a bit when Chelsea purchased Marin early on as an insurance if we didn't make the CL... Good player but he isn't exactly Hazard who came after we won the CL

Well you won't be getting the "top top" class players you want in that position, but good players which will likely improve the side. Both Honda and Fernando would be good for Utd for example. Also it's bit harder for Serie A sides to get the best players anymore.

To add there are certainly some players hiding, which is odd because they are playing for their futures. Moyes admitted giving players who were looking on their way out under Ferguson a chance, and they have not repayed his faith, which is poor from them. I hope he is ruthless with them come the summer.

Yeah. Players are really disgrace. The number of individual mistakes we have made this season is simply ridiculous. About time players make the step up and take some responsibilities. Need more Fletcher type personalities.

Also there is something really wrong with our training, just a guess work as the off the ball movement and attack mode is so ****.

there are still a lot of very good players, while not top elite would be massive boosts, and would serve to increase quality of depth in long run

Perhaps it's just the senior players being "realistic" and knowing they have peaked, and are looking for a sunny contract at PSG or Monaco instead of digging in and getting another title. Ferguson bred that winning spirit, and he coalesced it into massive success, but with him gone a lot of the 30+ year olds must be thinking "Well, I've had my career now with the greatest modern manager, won all this ****.. and now I need to raise my game for this guy who has won nothing". They are professionals, but then again so are the opposing team, and the opposition managers have worked out that you want to get at Moyes this season, exploit the weaknesses, whereas Ferguson's "aura" helped opposition managers always play a little more defensively, hiding some of the frailties.

They got Radja Nainggolan (the Calgari midfielder) on loan with option to buy.

Yeah but to be fair, it's not like the other teams will be sitting still waiting for United to close the gap if they dont get into the CL ... They will likely be adding top players themselves. Let's face it, not getting into the CL could really go either way and turn out to be a disaster

They cant buy everyone tbh. So its not that dire.

Just curious, were there any manager for a top club in the recent years that had a similar start to Moyes' for us but managed to comeback and got the team winning titles again? Excluding SAF of course.

Good managers get the most out of average players, no offence but Liverpool are full of them bar Suarez and BR is getting them playing good football and therefore expressing/enjoying themselves.
Sturridge, Coutinho, Sakho are very good players - and the likes of Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard and Sterling can also potentially be brilliant, so it's not as if Rodgers has done a magic trick. However, he has improved players like Enrique, Allen and Henderson in the season they've been here, so clearly he's done well in terms of man management.

There needs to be some fear factor - maybe not treating them like schoolboys if they do something wrong but why the **** is he never giving Zaha any chance... it's obviously personal, which isn't acceptable, wingers have been average at very best this season but he still won't give him a go.
It's very hard to get a fear factor when you're supposedly on the verge of the sack (according to the [tabloid] media anyway), and the players know it.

**** that cant stand the guy if its going to be any 1 pay the money and get klopp
Klopp would never join United in this situation.

Just saw this on Twitter - so far off the mark that it's hard to think it's not a troll! They think that Woodward has good negotiation skills, and that the Glazers are 'generous'!

It's twitter. They'd argue white was black on there. Total *****.

We can ***** about the squad quality for a month, Ferguson had these same guys and almost did PL point record with them.

So at the end its down to two possiblilites:

-Ferguson is a sorcerer, master of dark arts or in fact, Devil himself.
- Moyes is about as inspiring to the players as Santa's ********
lol
