The Manchester United Thread

30m is pushing very high imo. That means breaking all kind of records for a GK. He is young an loved his season for stoke. In few games he looked absolutely unbeatable.

Yeah Johnstone did very well in the preseason, I wanted him to start the season ahead of Romero.

Yeh £30m was a bit tongue in cheek, but considering the premium on young English players, it wouldnt surprise me if it was close to that figure.

Same thoughts with Johnstone aswell. Every time the ball gets passed back to Romero im expecting a goal. He can't kick a ball for **** and almost trips over it every time he has it at his feet. Not a bad shot stopper, but for a GK thats played in a WC Final, his ability on the ball is beyond poor. The only good thing that will come out of signing Romero is that we'll probably get a few quid for him. Saying that, we've probably paid him more in wages than what we'll get for him.

However, if LVG was gone and a manager who was more accommodating he could sign a new contract, that said I don't think he will stay.

Thats exactly what I'm thinking. Valdes's problem is with LVG, not the club. Actually I dont even know if Valdes does have a problem with LVG, but clearly LVG has a problem with him.

Going off Valdes's interviews and various social media posts, he's quite happy to be at United. I'll admit social media isnt the best indicator of his happyness. Its more than likely a PR team controlling it or the club themselves. But I feel if LVG were to go, and the new manager make it clear to Valdes that he will be playing, I think he'd sign a new deal and stay.

Valdes is already at United. Mind you Horn could just turn out to be another Schmichel if Utd were to buy him. Which can't hurt.

Been championing Horn on and off since the latter end of last year when we've been talking about replacements for Mingolet the other thread.

Every time I've caught Cologne he's been fantastic. A real big presence that looks perfect for the ariel perquisite of our league.

Di Marzio has said he is 100% signed up to man United. Guess we will find out soon enough.

If he is accurate (and he usually is) a) it means that Berta is likely to join and that b) Jose will already know two of his transfer targets

Erm, who is Berta?

Mehn...united could do with an on form rooney right about now.

I'd be up for an Everton v Man Utd semi final. Would be a very tasty affair

Yeh.. but he never is and when he comes into some kind of 'form' he gets injured. Rooney needs to go. No help to us anymore even relying on him.

West Ham today..... not confident at all after the ***** we watched in the last game and if we play anything like that today we'll lose. West Ham have a great record against the big teams and I think they'll be tougher opponents than Liverpool if they take this seriously. Basically because West Ham have been a better side than Liverpool this season so it's bound to be as tough if not tougher, only advantage is we are at home but in recent times that seems to be more of a burden.

They got a great manager in Bilic.

Our season is literally clinging on to these next 3 games: -

West Ham (FA Cup)

Liverpool (Europa League)

Man City (Premier League)

Have to win every game or else our season is over for official. Can't drop any more points in the PL against City.

What time does your season end today? ;).

Don't care for Mitten and some of the **** stuff he's said over the years but the latest edition of his fanzine has a real intriguing cover. Apparently another real interesting interview with Scholes too:

**** all as usual apart from get a noodle sponsorship, our board is as useless as they come and all they care about is $$$$$.

LVG will go at the end of the season supposedly, but I'm not going to give any credit whatsoever for our board because they've still ****** up this season. They should of changed the manager after christmas, there was no point in keeping him, everyone knew we had to act then to salvage anything from this season and they didn't. Same what they done with Moyes, left him in the job too long and it cost us a whole season instead of trying to salvage something.

I know I've said this like 1000 times but Woodward is a big part of the problem here, yes he does good stuff for commercial, big whoopie doo, he's as useless as a chocolate fireguard in making footballing based decisions.

I'm tired of you claiming that the board only cares about $$$$. You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. I'm pretty sure Woodward doesn't get final say in how the club is run, despite what his title might suggest. There's a board of directors for a reason.

I've said it before, but who the **** would we get in after Christmas that would of instantly turned our season around? Seriously who? There is only two options I can think of. One of whom is Jose, who just led his precious Chelsea team to the relegation zone and looked like a crazy fool in the media. Would you praise the board for firing LVG, and bought in someone that berated a Physio for doing her job? Would you praise the board for firing LVG, and bought in someone that just got sacked for leading his team to the relegation zone?

The other option would be to let Giggs take over. Inexperienced and untested. I'm sure that would work out superbly for us.

You might not want to believe it, but the board of Manchester United, including Woodward, are a lot smarter than you. Stop trying to tell them how to run a football club.

Wow I'm sorry but there is no simpler way to say this than to say you're one delusional fan, you seen these performances over the last 6 months or more? 9 losses since December. Form which is similar to Newcastle and gets their manager sacked, a relegation club, here we're talking about a team that should be with the resources it has acting in a similar manner to top clubs like Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona etc.

We struggle to even have a shot on target most games yet you're telling me someone like Giggs as in interim could do worse? I mean REALLY? At least he might actually give some freedom to this side and I don't know, how about some confidence/motivation rather than having a manager like LVG sitting on his **** all game?

Say what you want about Mourinho but even though I'm not his biggest fan, if LVG goes this summer it's only going to be him coming in anyway.

Also regarding your final part of the post about "stop trying to tell them how to run a football club". So fans can't have a say when their club is a shambles and is well below expectation anymore, we just accept mediocrity do we Puddz and let it continue? As a fan I can have my opinion and I'm sorry there is NOTHING AT ALL you can tell me that indicates that they are doing anything well in a football sense for United. Woodward or 'the board' (Glazers and their cronies) as you put it (fact is he Glazers and Woodward are the main decision makers on what happens, people like Fergie/Charlton/Gill are on a totally seperate ambassadorial board which doesn't get a real say into these decisions).

It's not even like they have helped us even with sticking by LVG, have they backed him at all in public? Answer is no. There is a reason, despite you not wanting to believe it, they are indecisive and it's cost United another season. Just like the Moyes season.

So all in all, the board are very smart for costing us Champions League again, well done Puddz, they are so happy people like you will continuously back them. Thinking their smart as well for lining their own pockets, what a bonus.

If this style of football was being played at any other top club with similar stature/resources that has been spent on it was being shown LVG wouldn't of lasted barely 2 months (6 games), just a fact. That's the difference between a competent board at a top club and ours, when the football identity/style has been destroyed they won't accept it.

We're no better now than before any of this money was spent over last few seasons. Regardless of players who might be something in future, fact is now they are not.

What is our football identity now? Playing Rashford at Right Back and Hoof to Fellaini in the final few minutes hoping his one header will result in a goal if last game is anything to go off.

With absolutely no cause to destroy that identity that had worked for United for the last 2 decades and more. A change of 'philosophy' as he put's it was the very last thing he needed to do.

To spend £300 million or whatever it is to get to this point where you're in little to no better situation than when he took over is staggering as you say that a change has not been made a GOOD whiles back.

I'm the delusional fan for being logical? Believe me I hate the state the club is in right now, I just don't sprout **** like "OMG WOODWARD NEEDS TO GO HES THE MAIN REASON BEHIND THIS ALL HE CARES ABOUT IS MONEY BLAH BLAH BLAH". I know nothing of what goes on behind the scenes, nor how decisions are made or anything like that. Woodward could want to sack him but he's being out voted by the other members? I don't know. So I don't bother making judgements about people when I have zero facts.

I'm not saying Giggs can't do better. He might be the 2nd coming of Ferguson. We don't know. It's super risky. He could end up cocking our season up more than LVG and you'd be happy to take that risk?

Yeah it's going to be Jose. I would prefer Pep. But its going to be Jose, after a half year to calm the **** down from whatever was going on. Half a year to realize that his reputation of a great manager is on the brink if he ***** it up. I'm sure he's keenly aware that he needs to do well.

Lastly, Fans can say what they want. They normally do. The booing and the jeers from the fans at Old Trafford is getting the message across that the performances are unacceptable.

That last bit was directed at you and your constant need to say "WOODWARD SUCKS PLS KICK". It's like you constantly need to say that every week or something bad will happen.
