..... Italy is also hardly a much weaker league.

The PL is well over rated but it ****** all over Serie A. The standard in Italy is terrible and Juve have had free reign down to their financial might over everyone else since the new ground changed the landscape.

This isn't the '90's. You know that.

As regards Pogba mind he can only achieve what he achieves where he is at that time. Shouldn't be a slight on him the poor standard of Serie A. He's still a top draw footballer.

It really doesn't. Gap is much closer. Not sure why you need to tell me it's not the 90s either, since I never said it was far superior league.

Because if I read you right you're trying to suggest Serie A isn't a poor league. It wasn't then. It is now.

It isnt a poor league now, no more than the Bundesliga is, **** it's probably more even at the top. None of that negates his showing in the CL either

Completely disagree on Serie A but I edited/ added to the original point agreeing that shouldn't reflect on Pogba. You quoted before I added so probably missed it.

****, I remember in the not too distant past there was only myself and Epic defending Pogba in here from some serious criticism from quite a few now saying the complete opposite. (Yourself not included.). I really rate him as a footballer with a massive ceiling.

Pogba's own performances, including those in the CL have been far more consistent over 4 years than Bale's. Italy is also hardly a much weaker league.

A lot of how a player performs is also linked to the team he has around him and the manager he plays under. Pogba was playing in a fantastic Juventus team filled with top players under good managers like Conte and Allegri in a weaker league that they absolutely dominated. Also EPL ****** all over Serie A in terms of overall quality among the 20 teams no matter which way you cut it.

Bale on the other hand was playing for Top 6 side in a tougher league in England not around any top players and under mediocre managers like Redknapp and AVB. He single-handedly carried Tottenham most times and the same cannot be said for Pogba.

The point about Pogba would be more salient, if it wasnt for the fact he's been part of the driving force behind their achievements.

So was Bale. The only difference is that because Pogba was playing with much better players, under much better managers and in a weaker league, his achievements look far more impressive:

This 'world record transfer fee' has far more to do with revenue's of EPL clubs exploding rather than any proporionate increase vis a vis Pogba's greater accomplishments as compared to Bale.

I don't doubt Pogba's talent at all. But to use their 'achievements' as a point of comparison when they were both playing for clubs in completely different situations when they made their world record transfer is unfair.

Definitely no slight on him. He is a remarkable footballer. But Bale could have probably done the same was he playing for Juventus with the same players and under the same managers as Pogba did. Both are brilliant players.

Well just heard Juventus rejected the £100 million offer.

I believe it's the right time to tell them to **** off.

If this is true, they are not stupid. As Mike said, United can easily afford transfer fees and wages with wages remaining at 50% of turnover. Revenue of EPL clubs has also increased massively. United showed their hand with an opening salvo of £86m so Juventus will squeeze them for all they have particularly as they are under no compulsion to sell.

United didnt show their hand tbh. Long been known that he wouldnt be going for anything less than a world record fee, so United have come in just over that

Norrozzi confirming also deal agreed with Pogba and he has asked to leave

Trovare un accordo da 12 milioni a stagione con lo #United e metterlo sul tavolo della #Juve è come dire: "Voglio andar via". #Pogba
