Isn't he out injured as well for a while on top of being impossible to sign and probably not wanting to leave juventus

Has he spoken on the appointment? On or off the record do you know? I mean he'd be as diplomatic as ever regardless like, but just curious if he's had anything to say given how he's always been dead against him coming into Utd.
Remember seeing a few interviews on MUTV from both him and Jose. And like you said both very diplomatic and praising for each other. At the end of the day I think Charlton just wants what's best for the club after all especially after a bit of a dire period. When Mou came and they met each other it looked all friendly and that but a bit staged and awkward. As long as we start winning I don't think those who were against Mou will care to much. Or in Charltons case be around the club as often.

Same person I said then who was free. Mourinho
Precisely. And mourinho's thinly veiled comments (as well as castle's who is his mouthpiece) at the time was to the effect that he wanted and expected to be chosen instead of moysey.

We all know how arrogant mourinho is. By that time he was ready to do the two things left for him to do: follow a true and be successful and also build a legacy and then manage portugal.

Follow a true legend and be "equally" as successful by buildinf a legacy i meant (tapatalk is weird).

Genuine question, why do we make a player like Schweinsteiger train with U21's just if he isn't part of the plans?

Seems like such a bad way to handle things and letting a player iike him leave on bad terms would be bad for the reputation of the club.

When Pogba was with us Fergie made him train with the U21's and we all know what happened after. I honestly don't get this approach.

Even if you don't have a plan for that player and want him sold, don't be a douche and put him in the U21's. Treat him with the respect he deserves.

He's not training with them, nor will he play for them.

Who made this up then? Because it has been circulating for the last few days.

He's apparently been moved to the reserve dressing rooms. Whether this is true hasn't actually be substansiated. We're covering the Testimonial on wednesday, will try and get someone to ask.

I cried after watching this tribute:'(

its an interesting question though who should they have gone with instead I am struggling to think who was available at the time, and for the reasons you mentioned its probably why people avoided the job.

I'll put it out there to United fans now to have some interesting forum discussion

you can go back 3 years who do you go and get and why?

i would have gone for conte i was dying for us to sign him up when sir alex made his intentions to retire he is a brilliant manager probably 1 of the most underrated high profile managers most of my mates found it hilarious when i named conte most didnt even know who he was lol

Yeah conte is someone I know little about as a manager anyway, I liked him as a player, I know he was successful at Juve and obviously saw what he did with the italian national team in the Euros but I know little about how good he is etc. I know he divides opinion on base, but I am genuinely intrigued by what he will do with the blues and how good he will be

I'd say there is truth in it, looked at his brothers latest tweet 'No Respect'.

Shame, not a great way to handle a player such as Schweinsteiger, with his reputation.

His brother posted than right after the "reports" popped up tbh. And then Ducker somehow wrote an entire story on it.

Reserves are playing tonight, we'll see.

Meanwhile City players who are overweight arent even allowed to train with the 1st team. Both managers are ruthless

That's the one thing you will always get with Mourinho. Once a player is done, he will be ruthless and they'll be gone.

just ask Ivanovic...

Exactly. Don't become 2 of the best managers in the world by being nice and not making tough calls. Am gonna watch the game tonight so will see if Basti plays. Seen a few rumours saying he could be playing in Rooneys testimonial.

Which is sound. But, 'if' true, demoting a guy like that to train with the kids not so much.

That's not 'being ruthless/ making a tough call/ however anyone wants to describe it.' That's being a *****.

Oh no, I was kidding. He kept playing Brana last year, even though it was massively clear that things weren't working (we started playing a drinking game where you would take a shot every time he got skinned. Those were some messy weekends...) so he's not above some dogmatic loyalty.

This looks much more like he is just asserting his authority and showing everyone that no amount of past glory is really going to save you.

How that man survived is still a mystery.

He hasn't trained with them.

True but turning up overweight for Pre-season is just unprofessional which deserves to be punished. Its not Bastian's fault that his best days are behind him so he deserves to leave gracefully instead of being demoted as he has if reports are true.

No Schweinstiger :)
