The Manchester United Thread

Naturally it would.

To anyone else not a Utd fan that would be Klopp talking about how he works when asked if he'd spend £100 million on a player.

It's quite obvious what he meant, which is fine he's allowed his view (and people allowed to reply).

Do us a favour and put the "not being a Utd fan" **** in the bin. If you can't debate the point, take it back to the Liverpool thread.

If you can't debate the point the way I want ..... Do us a favour and say it how you mean it.

He was talking about how he does things. Nothing 'veiled' in it at all. But it's a veiled attack ..... seen only by Utd fans as he's now here. The same way he's now an attacking manager that plays kids as we've discovered since he's got back into work.

Pogba might be close to 100m, but he's not being collected. Jose (and Pep) are building teams. Differently to Klopp, but teams they are.

Pep is bringing in more youthful players because the City side is older. Jose is mostly doing the same, but adding experience where it is lacking, as the United side is mostly quite young (most are 25 or younger)

And to anyone that doesn't think Klopp is the new coming of Jesus who can't do nothing wrong, its him criticising the transfer and claiming Jose isn't building a real team.

Which is fine. He can think that. Just like Jose can think that Liverpool isn't a top club.

No i say what I mean, and I dont hide behind a supposed moral high ground and then come into have a dig.

It can't be had both ways. This is my point. People can't have their cake and eat it.

The professor and the new messiah both made their veiled comments. He made his. Cuts both ways.

Wenger never criticized it. He actually said that if United can do it they should.

Personally I don't see the big deal in any of them having their say. It's not mind games, no ones cracking. They are all competitive, they all are forth right in their opinions, they all stick up for their beliefs. Have at it.

Personally just waiting for Pep to join in. Then the real fun begins.

In fairness he did elaborate further later on with what I thought were eye opening points. His spending views suddenly make perfect sense (still don't agree, and Arsenal are in danger of falling behind this season).

I actually said veiled comment, not attack.

Love and McNair possibly off to Sunderland. No real feelings on Love, but quite liked McNair

Hey now. In here, that can be flipped into you 'fishing', or 'having a dig.' Or not depending on who's saying it.

Just a heads up on how things are going lately.

I think he and club have made big mistakes in these last couple summers. Should have seen early what new TV and other sponsorship deals will mean for clubs. No point saving up money as every club has lots now. He can still correct the situation a bit, but in my opinion biggest mistakes were these two previous summers where he should have gone in big, but refrained.

One thing about Pogba transfer I admire Utd about is that they wont let fees step into way of making a deal they want to. Arsene needs to do the same now especially as Gabriel got injured. He should be prepared to spend whats necessary now to sign the much needed defender and forward.

Also tbh we are always falling behind at least according to press and pundits, but somehow end up ahead of many of our competitors.

It's no dig when I call him the Professor. For an economist he has been incredibly lax in predicting the market.

My issue is that you still achieve the minimum. Last season was your best change in years to win. Arsenal are surely more ambitious than that.

He has to get Mustafi, has to.

Yeah for an economist he has been quite blind to financial change in the scene.

Last year especially. I think we wouldn't have needed a WC striker, but a good one to compete with Giroud and we'd have won the league.

I think we will get Mustafi. Valencia are "ready" to lose him... They just want to get maximum price for him which we should just give them and be done with it.

Yeah I think there might be something in it, but only because Gabriel got injured. Wenger has been saving Chambers a lot in pre-season games and will by the looks of it be looking for a loan deal for him. That would leave us with only Koscielny and Holding as our fit CB's so Evans makes perfect sense. I wouldn't mind him at all as our 3rd choice CB after Koscielny and Mustafi.
