Personally, I'm in one of those "if we get knocked out, I don't overly care... but if we get to the quarter final stage, I want us to finish the job" mindset regarding the Europa League. If we have a fully fit squad, it's a fantastic competition to keep everyone happy & match sharp, but if there's a few injuries here and there, and we're forced to use a majority of players on a Thursday that are guaranteed starters on the Sunday, then it becomes a little bit of a burden. However I do think in England, the Europa League doesn't have the respect it deserves.

If I'm a Utd fan going to a moody place like Rotterdam watching my back the whole trip, and you're my teams manager with that attitude and you did that; I can't tell you how ****** at yers I'd be.
Plus he never changes his hair.
there will definitely be times to rotate. Away in the first Europa League is not one of them after you have lost to City. Go there and smash them should be the mentality, you never wait to bounce back from defeat. Clubs used to hate playing us when we lost under Ferguson, because it meant we were coming back twice as hard at them. I want that back.

And aside from the Europa League being a major European trophy, and a real top tourney, particularly when it get's the knock-outs as we discussed often last year; Utd have the chance to do something in Europe this season Liverpool no longer can with the Cup Winners Cup now defunct, and very few clubs ever have. Win all three European majors.
What Utd fan wouldn't want that over L'pool?

Man Utd are building up their global recruitment network - but still have eyes on the local patch says academy chief Nicky ****.
Gorton-born **** was a regular in derbies during his Manchester United career, along with Salford's Paul Scholes and Greater Manchester's Bury born Gary and Phil Neville.
Longsight's Wes Brown also added to the local contingent that regularly lined up against the Blues during Sir Alex Ferguson's glorious reign.
But Rashford was the odd man out on Saturday.
And this summer in their revamp of the academy, the Reds have also gone out and bought new teenage recruits Tahith Chong from Feyenoord and Nishan Burkart from FC Zurich to improve the youth squad.
The Reds have massively increased their worldwide scouting network. However, **** says that local home-produced talent will still be sourced.
“No chance are we going away from trying to recruit locally as well," **** told M.E.N Sport.
“You just never know because each season brings up different possibilities.
“This year for instance in our Under-12s, you'd normally take 14 players but it was such a good year we have brought in 22. That has never been done before. We had to bring in another staff member to deal with that year.
“One year you might get eight great players in from Europe that you have to bring in otherwise you might lose a superstar to somebody else.
“My ideal squad would be eight to 10 local lads, three to four UK based lads and two or three European lads. That would be the ideal. That would be the template to work from.
“It doesn't always happen like that. But we are definitely not going away from the local boys.”
**** was central to the Class of 92 and thinks that golden era could be repeated.
“The Class of 92 can be done again," he added. "Ability wise it definitely can be done again because some of these boys are better than I was when I was 16. They have so much more ability.
“The talent is there so it can be done again. There is no reason why it cannot. I would be really proud if it does. I'd love it to happen again.
“It is a bit like the treble season it can be done again but everything has to be right, the timing, the players, the manager.
“It is our job and the club's job to make to happen and do it again. I was always confident the club could it again. I wouldn't have taken the job otherwise.”

Happy with Januzaj loan spell so far. Easily there best attacking outlet! Been good so far for Moyes shame he's surrounded by *****. Thing that please me most is his attitude and work rate for 90 mins despite being frustrated at the lack of ball he's seeing. Hope he keeps it up.

You know...I hate to agree with scousers but carragher has got his pogba analysis right on the money.
It was a similar argument to the one I made yesterday. Right now, for his benefit, rooney should be dropped.

It's southampton tho. He could move around and not be worried about the space behind him.
I think mou's big game approach needs tweaking. It has to be a midfield of 3 and that would involve dropping rooney

And he'll continue to have them against teams like Southampton, but against top opposition it's going to be exposed badly. It's the same problem as with playing Rooney at CM. Holywood footballers never work in the 2 man midfield.

Well that's not really true, how often do you see Kroos dribbling or doing fancy flicks? Sure, he play a Holywood pass, but his primary concern is to keep the ball moving and always be available for a pass. Pivot player needs to be reliable first of all. You would never see Carrick or Alonso flipping the ball over people's head in a situation where simple short pass will do the job.

Rooney is part of the problem with Pogba if you ask me.... using a 3 man midfield you then have to put Rooney somewhere he is practically useless. When we realise Rooney is droppable only then will our other players be able to be utilised at their best.
United's midfield shouldn't contain Rooney.
