The Manchester United Thread

Seriously? If you need to ask reading his utter disdain for the Europa League then you don't either.

Don't think you'll ever let that go, don't think you realise that many people don't really like the Europa league if their honest. Others may be better at hiding it whilst their team is in it but there you go.

What we need now is consistency. The performances are there, but we need to be consistently putting teams to the sword.

Can't see many changes to this team on Sunday only Herrera to come in for Rooney or Mky.

Jose has already said Carrick can't play twice in a week, so unless that has drastically changed somehow then I don't see how he will play either.

Like I said, anyone that doesn't, yourself being the glaring example here. doesn't derive to be a fan of a club in Europe.

Not least one that was built on European football.

Carrick already played twice this week so that's out the window :) Mou will want consistency and it's not like Carrick is box to box for most the game.

Mourinho has said a lot in the past though about Carrick not being able to play a few games in a row because of his age. Which really winds me up when Zlatan plays 90 minutes every game. Despite Zlatan's age, he plays every minute of every game and there doesnt appear to be any downside to that. So where has Jose got Carrick cant play twice a week from? He just has. Didnt look off the pace and had a good game. I really hope Jose stops with that bullshit excuse now and starts playing Carrick more often. With him starting, we have more chance of killing a game off by 60/70 mins and taking him off. Better than him not starting, the team falls apart then he comes on after 75 mins to effect a game when we have to get through 2 double deckers to score a goal.

I was impressed with mhki. His off the ball movement was excellent, he has that barca-esque one-two pass and he adept to using both feet. I hope he starts on Sunday. I feel we need to get him fit and firing.

Some players cant be replaced unfortunately.
But who do you have in mind for that - Carvalho? Matuidi? youngster Goretzka?

Gundogan would have been good pick maybe.
Not a chance with Matuidi or Carvalho but i do like both. But neither play like Carrick. My choice Weigl, Goretzka, Danhoud, verratti but there's no chance of him.

Not surprised. Heard players families being unhappy about there kids that went there and left. And some parents speaking out about how there kids and themselves were given things to not join other clubs. And a few other things about how they have been poaching top talent from around the country.

Think Naingolan is as good a shout as any... but honestly I really want TFM given a go in that role, Yes we all know he isn't like Carrick but he brings a lot of other things to the table. He's a ****** brute for a start.

Plus we could always do what I do in FM and mould Pereira or Herrera(like Jose already tried) there.

Carvalho is not the answer for me. Watch Spirting a lot and his passing is pretty poor at times, and looses the ball often under pressure. Would be a good buy if Mou did want a DM. Players will come weather we have CL or not we will just have to pay silly wages which we do anyway. Herrera could easily take over from Carrick in that role. Ok he doesn't have the forward splitting passed Carrick has but he is great at tacking the ball in tight spaces and setting up attacks and good at reading the game. If we replace Carrick or not which I don't think so as he has a clause to trigger another year. I still want us to strengthen CM with real quality especially with Bastian leaving, Schniederlin looking likely and hopefully Fellaini.

Nothing will get done. Nothing ever gets done outside a slap on the wrist. City are FAR from the only major club to offer ridiculous incentives. The game is so awash with unscrupulous, unregulated agents under the rule changes working for clubs it's untrue. For instance I know for a fact from a friend who's a youth coach at Everton that a promising kid they were trying to entice ended up at a London club when an 'agent' acting for that club offered his parents a 6 figure sum for him to sign there. Money they could only dream about. The lad was 16.

*Edit* There you go. Maximum £25 grand fine. Pocket change. Man City signing of Liverpool goalkeeper investigated by Premier League - Liverpool Echo

Ridiculous 25k. Also seen another article that they have breached rule 299.1 whatever that is. Not had time to read it yet, but did see they have done so many times over the last 3 years.

More chance to get Carvalho I think. Depends who will go after him and can u offer him CL also. More proven than others also.....

I don't see how Carvalho, going off watching him for Portugal last summer, improves any top side in England to any significant degree personally.

Saw him linked with Milan a few days back, not really watched him that I can remember but the rumours were 35 million.....
