The Manchester United Thread

We're so one dimensional, I'd love to see some invention. Basically relying on an Ibrahomvic or Fellaini header.

Ibrahimovic leaving would be best for everyone in my view. Good player, but I want someone who can offer us more in behind. Even if we have him for one more season it will only stall us.

Only way we're getting CL is via Europa mate, no chance of top 4.

Tonight we were terrible, what was even our system in that second half? Everton thoroughly deserved the win, unlucky mate.
Wouldn't say Everton deserved to win. We had more chances. Hit the bar twice. Had a goal disallowed and Everton should of had 2 players sent off. I'm not in anyway saying we were good enough or I'm happy. But I think we deserved to win.

Our decline in performances coincided with fellaini coming back to the team.

I just can't for the life of me see us making top 4 with our fixture congestion and the teams we have left to play.

Only because they were gifted a goal. United get the first, different game. Everton get the first, we're facing a defensive line deeper than Wayne Shaw's belly button.

We're literally our own worst enemies at times

Will be mega mega hard no doubt! Got to be a mental problem at home missing so many clear chances! Bailly my MOTM. Shaw played well when came on.

Fwiw, after games in hand are played, we could have the best away record in the league. Emphasises just how poor we've been at OT this season

I know. So frustrating! Think I read today that we've had over 1650 shots in these drawn games at OT and scored 8. Well 9 now. I still firmly trust in Mourinho, and our footy and chances created has improved no end. While still being solid. Can't see us drawing and missing this many chances at home next season. Especially after Mourinho has finished his rebuild.

Another draw. Another lacklustre attacking display. Good point though is that our defence seemed pretty good at stopping their counter attacking.

We really need a better attacking options. Lumping it into the heads of Zlatan and Fellaini just isn't working. We need to replace those two with people who can do more than just head a ball.

Mata is a huge miss tho. I feel sometime we miss someone making the most out of those little pocket of spaces.

Agree. Fellaini should be nothing but a plan B squad player. I'm happy we got Zlatan but we need a top STR with more movement and who we can rely on!

It's frustrating indeed, but wherever you read that, I'll have what they're smoking. That averages at almost 140 shots per game XD

However, this is accurate; Man Utd average most shots on target in PL & only Chelsea have conceded fewer on target.

Weekly reminder that LVG missed top 4 by goal difference using half a squad of kids with no hair on their balls.

LVG's negative, sideway football was probably the main reason he got the boot.

I could tolerate it if we played good football where we created lots of chances but that wasn't the case.

Looks like Zlatan waiting to see who we bring in.

Pretty interesting words from Ibrahimovic:
..."Probably I have one, two, three years so everything depends on what you want and what the club wants, what the vision of the club is because I said from day one I didn't come here to waste time, I came here to win.

"If you want to win bigger then you have to create bigger.

"I came here without the Champions League. I came here with the team as it was. It was not a team that was favourite to win.

"I still came. I came to help. I came to do what I am able to do. To make it better. To bring the team to higher views so let's see what happens.''...

What's with Mourinho constantly throwing Shaw under the bus?

Just been watching him post match completely hanging him out to dry. No wonder Shaws confidence is shattered and he's not getting much of a response out of him. Never understand that type of 'man management' from guys you expect to give everything for you.

It's like a personal vendetta now.

I think he wants to keep Shaw down to earth after "winning" us that penalty last night, so that he keeps working hard and stuff like that.. I dunno

VERY strange way of going around it.

You don't do that to an International footballer. Completely humiliate him and question his footie intelligence to the media post match.

Completely dickish move. And a very dangerous all round game to play in terms of the whole dressing room. One would of thought he'd learned his lesson on that from his second go-around at Chelsea but seemingly not

How about Shaw is simply not taking in and doing what the manager wants. He's tried the whole around the arm thing in training and it didn't work. So this is the next step? Would not be the first manger to call Shaw out or the 2nd or 3rd!
