No matter who we are interested in, the price goes up £20 straight away so we are always going to pay over the odds. With all the money in the league now, Premier League clubs are going to pay over the odds for everyone. Thats just the way it is now.
As for Perisic, Yes he's 28 and £35-50m is a lot of money but thats simply the going rate now because of the market, If 20-24 year olds are going for £40-80m then you have to expect that. Then also you have the "Premier League Premium" added on by clubs as well.
Looking at what he's actually going to offer the team, I dont see it as a bad deal at all. He can play as a genuine winger on the left. Something we are lacking. Were actually even lacking a genuine winger on the right also so it offers the team something else. We have too many players looking to cut inside, or basically too many number 10's being shifted out wide. He's experienced Internationally, offers goals and assists, good work rate, and tall which Jose will like especially defensively.
As for Martial, ive had enough personally. He doesnt seem interested at all. As ive said with the other wide players, he does the same thing over and over and over. Just cuts inside and run's into trouble. Just going off this season, he may as well have had a Nani shirt on for me. So frustrating. I think he's wasted on the left. On the odd occasion he played up top after the Ibra injury, you could see he'd get a lot more success in games using his pace to get in behind like Rashford does. But with Rashford now well ahead in that position, plus the possibility of keeping Ibra and maybe a new striker that will be coming in to start games, where does he fit?
He really needs to kick on and add something different to his game on the left coz its just not working for me. Becoming a one trick pony. Dont think Jose has much trust in him either and may well be tempted to sell if a good offer comes in, to recoup most of what we spent.
