The Manchester United Thread

Better chance of winning the CL with them and he will get a better shot at trophies, finances will help but they are a bit of a step up on Dortmund

Lower standard of football in a lesser league.

With neither club going much further either already do in Europe.

Sideways step at best if he were to make that move given his talent. But he'd be well compensated so yer know.

If you've any real ambition for yourself you're not looking at going to France when you're one of the most coveted strikers in Germany. If not Europe.

I really hope that if we get Griezmann&Perisic that we still will go for a true striker, someone like Lukaku would be amazing imo.

Imagine an attack like this.. the depth and options for PL, CL, FA, EFL..

Most likely just dreaming tho haha

******* No to perisic. Decent player but that would stall Martial's development. Where would pereria play as well?

I hope that's just one of those Gaitan-esque rumors where we agree a deal on principle but it never materializes

I am mixed on Perisic, it has picked up a bit more heat this morning so it may be one that happens.

Pros: An actual winger, two footed, scores goals, good at beating a man one on one, can produce a rare moment of quality.

Cons: Inconsistent (except for Croatia), poor delivery, poor decision-making, price looks hefty for him, there could be better options like Douglas Costa available this summer.

Overall, pretty underwhelmed if this one is true. Although he would fit into the squad as something we don't have, I just think there is better options we should be going for. Also worried this signing will be at the expense of Martial or Pereira, if it is we're stupid.

Pereira is a CM not a left winger. And the only thing stalling Martial is himself plus they are completely different players.

I find it very odd how Di Marzio hasn't covered this one, especially as involves an Italian club, so it could very well be BS.

Anyway the Italian reporter who is running with this also says we think the price is too high even though we have an agreement with player.

Di Marzio has mate. Said Mourinho has talked with Perisic over a month ago. All agreed with player. They want 50-60m Euros we offered and value him at 35m Euros. If we can get him for that would be a good signing.

Same price as Sadio give or take. Puts into perspective just how much of a bargain that was.

Just thankful he turned Utd down twice or else you'd of benefited.

MANCHESTER UNITED ENTER DUTCH TOURNAMENT

Manchester United are entering the Terborg Tournament in the Netherlands in May.

The Reds will be sending a team for the Under-19 competition, although the rules also stipulate over-aged players are permitted.

The event is being held on 26, 27 and 28 May with Atletico Mineiro, Ajax Cape Town and De Graafschap among those whose participation has been confirmed.

United are also taking part in the Dallas Cup, in April, and Otten Cup, in August, as the club continue to embark on foreign trips to enhance the current crop of youngsters' experience.

Lost in the Semi on Penalties this morning Burkart missing the crucial Peno, against At Minero Brazilian side. Watched a few highlights of matches. Played well tbf except for one match. Gomes, Burkart, Warren, Oconner stand out players.

35m is a bargain for Perisic tbh so 45-55m or whatever they want for him is only fair, not a big deal in todays market is it?

Think it's a rip off personally, their valuation is 55m-60m euros which is like £45m-50m dependant.

He's not even that good, Nani kind of signing in terms of consistency, just as good if not better options available this summer we should be pursuing rather than him at that price.

Personally don't see him worth pursuing, but Jose obviously likes him. As Mike said with James, I'm happy to be proved wrong

Well let me play devil's advocate here.

I remember we were equally as outraged when southampton slapped that 35 million price tag on mane

Granted mane is younger, I think low key signings like these end up being the best.

Eric bailly was our best transfer last window and had the least hype of the 4 we signed.

A lot of people also questioned his price then but you don't hear the questions now lol.

Exactly. 35m Euros would be what 28-30m Sterling good price for me.
