The Manchester United Thread

Go out to win on all fronts. We have the squad. Winning is momentum.

Yep. I know you've gotta beat the best teams to win it but the longer you avoid them doesn't hurt. Especially as upsets can happen in a cup comp.
I think a certain club at the other end of the Mersey learnt about cup upsets this week ;)

Tbh wouldn't even call it an upset, that's not being cheeky

After last night Romero has kept 22 out of 25 clean sheets starting for us. And we are now unbeaten at OT in the last 33 games since losing to City.

Which tells you it's not all De Gea, and indeed the defence plays a big part.

Rashford definitely bounced back from his less than usual self at the weekend. Some of Martial skills as well were phenomenal, I really hope Jose doesn't go mardy over him for that. Because they were all rightly used and not over the top.

He won't. Martial's issues are not knowing when to use his skill and when to be simple on the ball. Got it all righr yesterday. It's about decision making.

Mourinho on away fixtures
“It is very difficult but it means it will be easier later. If we play now CSKA in Moscow and Benfica in Lisbon then later we will play at Old Trafford. If we have consecutive matches away, it means later we will play them at Old Trafford so I am never too worried. The number of matches in the league is going to be the same.

If we cannot win we try to get points and then try to compensate with good form at home.”

Mourinho on Southampton
“They are very stable in the way they play and in the way they see football, the qualities of their players.”

Another dissapointing night for Sbragia and the u23s! Lost 2-1 to bottom of the league Derby. Buffonge scored ours, his first at this level. Wilson hit the post early on. But apart from that Derby were the better team. Back in the relegation places again I think. Not looking good, considering the squad is better than last season :( Olosunde got stretchered off looked like a real nasty one!

They should first go and start a womens team.

Topical again with the league starting up again last night.

A continued head-scratcher (not least to Utd fans), to United's detriment, why they still refuse to go down that road. Makes absolutely no sense for a club so obsessed with profits to continue to potentially alienate a large section of their support and lose them to City who like most now do invest in the girls.
