Donny van de Beek has been directly involved in 32 goals [17⚽️ & 15?️] in 50 Eredivisie starts since the start of last season. He has had a hand in 8 goals [5⚽️ & 3?️] in 16 Champions League starts in that period.

A versatile & intelligent midfielder. ??

Shows you what a mess our negotiation and transfer dealings have been. Also, Mourinho, who tends to prefer the short term option invariably. van de Beek is a really good start, now we need a CB, RW and LB.

Haven't seen us being linked to too many targets (surprising, strange and good). Badiashile and Upamecano (the former seems a lot more likely)/ Reguilon at LB and your usual suspects at RW.

I wonder if we will be cheeky (or full-blown panic) near the end of the window and go for Depay (we do have a buy-back option on him for about 40 Mn).

It’s definitely a refreshing change(long overdue!) to not be a circus around us and not linked to 20m players. Seemingly something has changed since Ole has been here. A RW and CB and I will be happy with this window. Especially if a couple more go and with the youngsters signed for the academy and the Women’s team signings.

Will everyone be quarantined? Far as I know, only people who travelled to certain countries were put under quarantine.

Anyhow, interesting to see how the midfield evolves with van de Beek now. He can technically play all of our midfield roles, and quite well at that. Against the lesser sides, a deeper midfielder shielding the defence (although Ajax has often used him as part of a two-man pivot (like they did with Frenkie de Jong)). Outside of that, he is a very good playmaker. We haven't had someone with a proper box-to-box presence since Herrera too, so that'll be something too, especially considering his runs.
