WHUFC wont walk the Championship, hardest league in English football to win. As an MFC fan who's club was bigger than WHUFC over the past 30 years I can vouch for the fact over confidence about promotion leads to failure. Next season we're going in low and hopefully get in the top 4. My favourites are NFFC, LCFC and MFC with Blackpool/Burnley as dark horses. Think Big Sams comments/attitude sum up over confidence, the way that guy acts is as if he's managed a top club. The Championship is about his level, but good luck to everyone in the Championship, very tough league.

Nope, I do believe West Ham will win promotion this season- Up as champions. Its not the hardest league to win in my opinion, because there's a clear gulf in class between teams like West Ham and Barnsley/Doncaster. West Ham have added some Premier League quality into their side, along with a Premier-League standard of a manager. For me, West Ham will be like Newcastle from 09/10, and will simply be too good for the Championship. Birmingham & Leicester have strong squads also, but whether Blackpool can reach the top 6 again I don't know. Holloway is a quality manager, he's got the best out of many teams [with the exception being leicester]. Burnley are in for a shout, my dark-houses are Portsmouth.

I expect a few WHU fans will be in for a shock a few weeks into the season, as a few of our fans were that assumed we would walk the league. I hate to say it but I think Millsmall could be this season's dark horse.

Giggles of course it's the hardest league! Somehow Norwich and Swansea got promotion which no one expected, I mean I agree to disagree but there is 12 teams every year who have a chance of promotion. Alot of fans expect promotion as well which just adds to the pressure. And wages in the Champ are absurd compared to L1. Think NUFC were prepared for relegation and Hughton kept expectations down. Think WHU/Allardyce might be in for a shock that's all...

Can't see Burnley getting promoted tbh. Eddie Howe is way out of his depth and doesn't know what he's doing by the looks of it. Got outbid for one of their star players from last season, lost (well losing but they will leave) two of their others, keep playing Jensen despite him being terrible and don't look to be making any significant moves in the market. We'll see what Howe does with the funds from Mears and Eagles and probably another million to add to that, talks of them getting Treacy who would be a good signing, but I'm very unsure on how they will do all depends on players coming in - quite a few Burnley fans even worrying about a relegation battle.

Burnley wont go up, we trounced them last Tuesday! I know it's only a friendly but they were *****!

Especially if the rumours are true that Burnley want to replace Eagles with Charlton's Wagstaff. Reportedly going to offer 700k. Honestly I would snap there hands off for 150! He is so average. Still I expect Burnley to be around 10th place.

Hasn't Howe let Carlisle go to Preston? Sounds like there's more out than in, Burnley hardly have a huge youth pool either. I just put some bling faith in Howe.

Yeah, Iwelumo and Alexander too and Cort may well go as well. He's going on about lowering the age, which is all well and good, but he isn't replacing them, yet at least. He also has some poor targets in mind. Got Ben Mee in on loan which isn't a bad signing, but they definitely need a new right back and winger. We'll see how Howe does, but atm it's not looking too good. There will be a new signing in the next week though apparently, but they need to get some more in quick, but maybe he'll has some players lined up.

If friendlies worked like that.... 5 years ago, we lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in a friendly, via a penalty. Shouldn't we of been thrashing the Premier League by 2007? ;)

and we beat man u 3-2 last season, should we be champions of england and runner up in the champo league..... yes, yes we should

Speaking on the West Ham walking the Championship

Over confidence kills, Cardiff should have easily gone up last season with the squad we had but alas we didn't, the NPC is too unpredictable a league to call until the secobd half of the season

True kjg1995, we should go up because of the blend of premiership experience and young talent we have in our squad, not to forget Big Sam's leadership but the championship is fast turning into one of the toughest and most respected leagues in Europe and we have to hope that we remain aware of this fact even though we may be able to spend where others can't;the same goes for leicester as well really but in no doubt keeping the likes of Scotty,Greeno and Tomkins we should be able to push on and celebrate a return to the epl this time next year.

I think you'll win the league this year anyway however I dont see Leicester being as high as they hope, maybe playoffs only, Southampton will be the surprise package and Ipswich if they get Chopra off the booze

Have we got any Preston fans on here? We signed their keeper Andy Lonergan and was hoping to ask someone if he was decent. Played a lot of games at Championship level and Everton were also apparently interested so I'm happy about the signing, just hoping for some feedback from a Preston fan

Reading tonight! Hopefully Mikkel Andersen will throw some more gloves into the crowd! I always missed them whenever he threw them!

I certainly do not support Preston, but Leeds have got themselves a top notch keeper. He made some outstanding saves over the seasons for North End. I'm sure Leeds will not concede as much as last season with Lonergan behind the sticks, he's also good at organising the defence which Leeds go do with organising :P

Ye Kasper was a great shot stopper for us last season but his organisation and kicking were a bit flawed at times. Hopefully this guy will be better at that. thanks for the info

Former Yeovil Town loan striker Rory Fallon is back at Huish Park and is in the squad for tonight's side against Cardiff City. The former Plymouth Argyle striker was released by the Pilgrims at the end of last season and is understood to have arrived for training with the Glovers just before the weekend.

Yeovil are certainly keen on signing up our old boys

Kenny Miller signs for Cardiff

Cardiff also complete signing of French youngster Rudy Gestede

Cardiff also take ex Derby and Hull player Craig Fagan on trial
