Can't just have Celtic and Rangers the other clubs would fold clubs like Hibs,Hearts,Aberdeen who have large fan bases would also need to join. I think they shouls all join but start from the blue square.

and by the way, no Barry ferguson is certainly not our best midfielder, given he doesnt play for us.

Jody Morris <3

Looking at it a different way, would it be fair to just chuck 2 teams out the Prem to make way for 2 unproven Scottish teams? We have no idea of the true level of Rangers and Celtic and whether they can sustain aby quality over a season against top class opposition.

The move will never happen, just think of the chaos it will cause it Scottish and English football...

No offence, but please do be serious. Jealous? The only way Rangers and Celtic would get the standard of players that English teams do is if Rangers and Celtic played in the premier league. That shows it's only going to benefit them and no other english teams, if anything it will damage mid table premier league teams chances of signing a player if Rangers and Celtic are in their league. So no, it's not jealousy, it's common sense. And they don't have bigger fans bases, it just seems it because they are in a league with "smaller" teams than them, yeah so there is some other good teams like Hibernian, Hearts, Dundee etc, but Rangers and Celtic only seem like big teams because they are consistantly challenging for the title in Scotland. Fulham, West Ham, Aston Villa and Wigan are all better teams and don't bother saying why aren't they in Europe because the premier league is of a much higher standard.

A good gauge of the fan base would have to be stadium size. And Celtic Park's capacity is almost 61,000. Now, the only bigger club stadium in Britain is Old Trafford. Then you have Emirates, St. James' Park and ibrox. So, 2/5 of the biggest club stadia in Britain are Scottish. To build something like that you need a somewhat larger fan base.

Edit: Though i'll admit Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal all have bigger fanbases world wide, but aside from them Celtic and Rangers are probably bigger than Villa, West Ham etc, and certainly bigger than Bolton, Hull and Fulham.

So much ***** on this forum it's unbelievable! Fanbase wise the old firm can hold their own compared to the likes of challenging teams like everton, man city and spurs but we can't compete with the top four really can we?

On the park we'd struggle to be competitive and would need to establish ourselves 1st before we could challenge for a euro cup spot?

But **** that most of us REAL fans want to stay in the SPL! Shove the EPL up your **** England!

Fixed it for you. :)

Pretty sure I said EPL? Oh well nevermind us little people up here in tiny dependent on you English Scotland will just have to wait until you throw us a bit of charity our way?

Stop being so ****** arrogant we don't want to join your league! Read the previous pages and you'll see the posts saying this?(H)

Sending robbie keanes isnt charity, its giving spurs fifth choice striker to celtic, in spite of the fact he has done **** all since coming up

And we have also sent you shitloads that pretty much ruled England,Liverpools 3 European cup wins were with Graeme Souness as captain were they not?

Point is this thread has become a *** for tat between supporters 2 nations, one of whom has a superiority complex and another who has a massive chip on it's shoulder,it's all theory and nonsense, final words on this,IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!!

I am scottish, and a proud supporter of scotland football (Rangers)
But just because rangers (or celtic) average more supporters than the big clubs in england, doesn't mean they have more supporters. Even in our own country this is debatable. Ticket prices are far, far, far more there. This skews attendances massively. Most premier league teams make loads more than even the biggest SPL teams with lower attendances. I love SPL but believe we should stay scottish, we can't compete with the big english teams, definitely when comparing with ticket price.

You might want to bear in mind Scotland has a 5Million population and England has 60.

Scotland have nothing xD, so let them keep there only passion in scotland.

Thats because there's about 10 million Scots living in England making a living :P

Yeah they should join cos then theyd realise just how poor they really are. Also, the "No.. its called the English League for a reason" isnt really a valid answer as we have Cardiff in the English Leagues. :|

My uncle's lived in England for years, some still do but what about the exodus of Rich, retired english people coming up to Scotland to spend their retirement in a beautiful scenic countryside rather than a cramped city?
I'd say they've got the right idea,Smog Vs Fresh Air? No contest!!!!!!!:P

I've got family in England aswell. We used to visit them every summer. I hated it my cousins mates would all gang up on us if my cousin wasnt there. My dad and uncle worked there aswell as brickies. They worked on Canairy Wharf.

Off topic I know sorry guys.

I think Scottish football has had a terrible year I dont think theres any argument there but hopefully we can bounce back.
