The OMGAWD Rooneys leaving United thread

Im seeing Rooney joining Real, Mancini would want Rooney but I think even he would realise that Man City fans would not be happy, he's not Carlos Tevez.

by the way, LOVING observing the downfall of Rooney. Only a few years till the downfall of Man United :)

^ based upon countless football manager long term saves and naivety

I think City fans would love to have Rooney, anything to 'one-up' United.

If Rooney joined City, City fans would be singing his name @Old Traford gates for 1 week.

I think rooney will go to real madrid or AC Milan, he will rip them leagues apart!
33/1 for rooney to return home to everton, what do you think?

Barca won't take him after spending 35m Euros on David Villa (and Villa being better than him), AC Milan won't take him after shelling out for Robinho and potentially Ibrahimovic, not sure about Inter's financial situation (any knowledge would be appreciated) and I can't see a move to Chelsea or Man City - the most likely reason for his departure would be a 'new challenge' and as he's won everything in England, why would he go there? At United he's the big fish in the little pond (this is no disrespect to any United fans - but he is better than anyone else there), but at all these other clubs he'll be on a par with someone else. As such I can see the attraction of going abroad to be on a par with everyone else.

Also, I really can't see Rooney's transfer money being 'taken' by the Glazer's to 'service their debt' - as displayed above Maths obviously isn't a strong point for all, but £50m into a £750m debt is a drop in the ocean, nothing more.

Not sure tbh, rooney and ibra? thatcould be some partnership up front :P

i though AC Milan had no money though?

signing Robinho was a large chunk of their summer spendings, Ibra remember is only there on loan.

Not sure about their financial situation, and i believe they will take ibra, it was a loan to buy deal, AC have the option of buying ibra for 24m at the end of the loan

On robinho, yeah they splashed some money, but he is one really lazy player, useless IMO

Former Manchester United legend Eric Cantona told the BBC that he fears Rooney's top flight career could be over withint 5 years. How right he could turn out to be!

Hmm you can say this Mrjack but he scored first time in ages at the weekend and is looking sharper than he ever did at Man City.

Inter Milan have stacks of money, they were rumoured only last week to be interested in Messi. Their chairman Moratti has heaploads of cash. Be warned, Inter Milan have a lot of money.

He loves Utd as much as he loved Everton. Hes not good enough for Madrid and only city would be daft enough to buy him. 250k a week should keep coleen sweet ;)

do you really see Wayne wanting to play under Rafa though? i couldn't see it myself.

Just read Ian Wrights column in the Sun.

LOL he says he cant see Rooney sitting in a cafe eating tapas and speaking fluent Spanish to Real Madrid fans.

No offence Wright but footballers have become so detached from the fans that probably no player would do that nowadays.

I see. But having a bucketload of money and attracting top class players are different prospects. When people say that clubs like United and Barca need to sell their top players to service less than one tenth of their debt are talking rubbish, I'm afraid. You're more likely to generate that much money with your top players, so that'll never happen. A team with Rooney and Eto'o would be nice to see though.
