It's on the table again that from 2024 they could have a final week last 4 tournament in one City. Gonna' be proposed again the next UEFA meeting.

I actually like the idea as I don't think it gets more exciting than a straight one-game knock-out European tie. And a week in Sevilla or somewhere would be ****** boss haha. But the flip side of that is it could potentially lead to some really ugly scenes if you got 'certain' fanbases together in one City over a week. And then there's the profiteering side that would go on that might weel negate less games/ trips.

A lot for them to discuss but in principle, I could get behind a final tournament idea.

Unless I've miscalculated, when you add the CL/ EC and LC/ FA Cup dates, I make that 8 free midweeks all season. And one of those is the mid-season break that needs to be free regardless. With another coming the first midweek of the season between M1 and 2.

So that basically gives 6 free midweeks after Chrimbo. Of which 5 are potentially taken up by clashes of the LC Final on MD 26. And 4 FA Cup clashes. (MD 20/ 29/ 32 and 37.).

So on the basis of you going all the way in everything, you'll get TWO midweeks off, along with the mid-season break, ALL year.

And that's not accounting for potentially someone having the ESC and WCC to fit in!

Uhhhh, already incmonig a month away. Could say this is making up for the loss of football in Spring, but i think there will be suprises along the season if it is so packed of games for some teams.

Bielsa fitness will come in hand. This is what we have been training for 2 years.

I think it will really hit clubs with inexperienced managers the most like Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd with rotation more than ever being King next season. Think yourself lucky you've no Europe to contend with mate. Although I would say this opens up surprise challengers for the CL/ Europa League slots more than ever .

And then no sooner has the madness finished, than you roll straight into a summer of AFCON/ Copa America/ UEFA EC and then the Olympics!

As always, the welfare of the players is a complete afterthought.

Unfortunatly way of life.
I bellive Chelsea have also change for PL or CL title. Just need GK and defend sorted out. And ofcourse Lampard needs prove another season at the helm.

His move was happening regardless mate but he still **** all over everyone at RBL to come here early. And now they might get to a CL final which he might never.

In the other end maybe if he would have played they would have their *** whooped. One player can change the look of game so cant just say hahaha u left and they got to the semis. Too many variables to take into account. But i get your point.
 
FWIW I have BVB down as one of the few serious contenders for the CL this coming season.

**** of an exciting looking squad they have there.
