Cheers Boyd was injured for the start of the prem so hopefully he will return to the first team soon. I thought Diame was a good buy. But suppose everyone has there opinion. I was tryin to get Van Bommel instead but couldnt afford his wages.

September Update

Nikola+Kalinic.jpeg

After a very tough opening month the fixtures for September looked a bit easier ti get some points on the board. We had away trips to Forest and Wolves with a home game against West Ham in the middle. We also had to go to Ewood park in the league cup tie.

A better month than the first but we feel very disappointed that we didn't pick up more than four points. A lapse in concentration allowed Forest to score a last minute equalizer and against Wolves we scored a very late own goal to lose the match.

However we again showed great battling spirit and this came to the fore against West Ham where we got a massive win. If we keep picking up three points at home we should do ok.

Kris Boyd returned to the team after injury to score two vital goals which is pleasing to see.

We also bowed out of the League Cup after our extra time defeat to Blackburn. We are disappointed but the League Cup was not our main target this year so we will quickly move on.

There where a few players that stood out head and shoulders above the rest this month. Again icky Maynard's work rate gets him a mention while N'Zogbia was superb with his direct running and skills from an attacking full back role. However the Player of the Month award goes to Kris Boyd. Kris came back into the team after an injury and we soon seed what we where missing. He is a natural goal scorer and he showed this by scoring two vital goals. we hope that now we have a fully fit Kris back we will start finding the net regularly.

Player of the Month Boyd

We managed to score three goals in four games this month which isn't a great return. Out of the goals we did score the one that sticks out as sheer quality was N'Zogbia's strike against Blackburn in the League Cup. Charles played a one-two with O'Hara before beating two players and smashing the ball into the Blackburn goal. So this is my choice for Goal of the Month

We had some very gutsy performances this month but the Performance of the Month award has to go to our first win the the Premier League. Our home game against West Ham saw us pick up our first three points of the season so it gets the award.

Overall this Month I am very pleased with the passion and commitment shown by the players. However we our disappointed that we haven't picked up more points at this stage but if we keep playing like this the wins wont be far away. Next month things get even tougher as we have to play Man Utd, Everton and Tottenham as well as Sunderland and Birmingham

I love the goal of the month. A good bit of business getting boyd for 3M but I wouldn't have paid that much for N'Zogbia. How good has he been.

PS I beat Liverpool 2-1 with my championship squad

Yeah hopefully he can stay fit and hopefully he will continue to score. N'Zogbia has been quality I needed an attacking left back for the new tactic and he fitted the bill perfectly. What team where you?

when's next update?

Might get one done 2nite if not I will get one done tomorrow morning

Keep picking up the points at home and snatching a few away and you'll be fine mate. Good luck for next month, looks real tough.

October Update

If we thought the first two months where hard going this month took that to a whole new level. We had home games against Sunderland, Birmingham and Man Utd with away trips to Godison and White Hart Lane

We managed to pick up six points which was a decent return considering our fixtures. We recorded vital home wins against Sunderland and Birmingham that keep us lofted above the drop zone.

We also lost three on the trot this month but I think the Robin faithful will forgive us as they where against three top six sides in Man Utd, Everton and Spurs.

Again against both Utd and Spurs we showed great fighting qualities and it took two Rooney strikes for Utd to shake us off and we had Spurs pinned back for long periods in the second half.

We where beaten convincingly for the first time this season by Everton and we are upset about this because we never really got out of the traps and we all no goal difference can be worth another point come the end of the season.

There where quite a number of star performances this month. N'Zogbia again was excellent in every game he played this month and Burdussio also gave some top draw performances which have attracted the attention of some big European clubs including AC Milan. But the Player of the Month Award goes to Fran Merida. The young Spanish midfielder won us the game with two strikes against Sunderland but in every other game he was a real threat and he was nailed down a regular starting place in my side.

Player of the Month Fran Merdia

We scored five goals in as many games this month and this is something we must improve on. Our case wasn't helped when the in form Kris Boyd picked up another silly injury and missed two games. However there is one of the goals that stands out as a true piece of brilliance and gets the Goal of the Month award. Fran Merdia's first goal against Sunderland was right out of the top draw and is surely a contender for goal of the season. Fran picked the ball up 35 yards out before beating one player and lashing the ball into the top corner. Take a bow son!

We also had a couple of really good team performances this month including the Sunderland game and the defeat to Man Utd. But the Performance of the Month was the home game against Birmingham where we won 2-0. We had lost three games on the trot and the pressure was on to get a result and the lads played brilliant to record the victory. The sky camera's where also present so it was nice to put on a show for the viewers :D

Overall we are pleased with the six points we picked up this month. We had some very very hard fixtures and we managed to come out of very game, apart from the Everton one, with our heads held high. Next month see's us entertain Man City and Blackburn at home, with away trips to Chelsea and then down to the south coast against Pompey. We will be hoping for five points from the next month to push us further up the table.
