Nice job on signing Mane top player (coming from a Liverpool fan ) sad to see u leave Sunderland but I would of done the same hahaha I got FM 17 last night will play tonight wanna do a story once I'm used to FM 17 but never done one just have a quick question writing no problem just curious how u do your pics do u Photoshop them etc only part not sure off as in doing in a story tnx and good luck will be following :)

Some very good signings there. As said earlier Kolarov adds quality to the squad and is a very capable deputy for a number of positions. Mané is a quality signing who will add goals and assists from wide right. Witsel is another quality addition and a steal at £3.2m. As for Cillessen joining on loan, it's very impressive. He is a quality keeper who could be your number one for years. To get a £4m clause in is good business as well (especially when he's worth £8m already.)

You should give a story a go! :) I'm all for encouraging new people to try it, it can be so rewarding seeing people enjoying the work you pu tin to it. In terms of the pictures I use, all I do is take print screens, past them into microsoft paint and save them as jpegs. All the player images are just saved from google with a little bit of searching for the right one. If you need any help or have any questions dont hesitate to get in touch!

Thanks man :) I'm dead chuffed. When you look at the budgets I was set, if somebody had offered me those four players for all of my budgets, I would have snatched their hands off, so to have a little bit left over at the end as well is a real bonus!

After my departure, Sunderland decided to poach Alex Neil from Sunderland to fill the vacant managers position and as you can see, things havnt been going too well.

A couple of defeats They havn't scored more than one goal in any of his games in charge and that defeat to Ipswich could be damaging. Thankfully I managed to put down a lot of the groundwork before I left and I am sure they are going to be ok! The Leicester result as well is a sign that things might be looking up for them!

And we have the centre back we wanted. Lemos is not a player I have ever heard of or encountered before, but looking at loan listed players, it was him or Mathieu from Barcelona who has pace of 6, so I decided to bring in the young lad from PSG. His stats seem to be very good, he has that nice combination of strength and pace, the core defensive technical and physical elements all seem to be there and he has a couple of other nice stats like positioning, determination, bravery, decisions. He might even be our starting centre back, we will have to see!

And we are not going to have to wait very long to see as my first game in charge of the club is coming up very soon, and it is really not the start that I wanted for my time in Germany.

Yep thats right, FC Bayern up first. Only 3rd in the table so far this year, 8 points behind leaders Dortmund, Bayern appear to be struggling slightly, can we pull off an upset? We are playing at home after all.

Gutted you left Sunderland, was good to see a Sunderland story for a change. But will be keeping an eye on how things go with Wolfsburg. Keep updating us with how Sunderland are doing as well since you've left

Debuts for Mane, Witsel, Lemos and Cillessen today as we try and set ourelves up against what looks like a lethal Bayern side. Coman, Dembele and Sanches are going to provide so much pace and movement that I really dont know how our defence is going to hold up. A few minor injuries to contend with as Arnold and Blazczykowski both miss out, but otherwise full strength.

Really not too unhappy about this. Dont get me wrong, at the start of the game we were AWFUL! Coman ran rings around us, scored two, probably should have had a third but it took a deflection and went down as an own goal on debut for Lemos. At half time I mixed things up a bit, fiddled with the tactic and the second half was all about the comeback! Borja Mayoral came on for the final 30 minutes or so and immediately grabbed a couple of goals, he looks a proper player. Unfortunately in pushing for the third, we conceded a fourth late on but I can live that that, we were in this game.

Two changes to the side from the Bayern defeat with Borja Mayoral earning a starting place with his two goals, while Max Arnold returns from injury to take his place in the side. This is now pretty much our full strength side and this is a big game against fellow mid table occupiers Gladbach.

A wonderful result against 'A German club' in a truly insane game that was almost the mirror opposite of the Bayern game. We were outstanding in the first half and went in at the break 5-0 up, thats how good we were. Julian Draxler got four assists, Mane got an assist, two more goals for Mayoral, two goals for Axel Witsel and a nice goal for Max Arnold as well as we absolutely blew the opposition away. At half time I obviously told them I was very happy, and they got so complacent that we almost didnt deserve the result. 3 goals conceded, barely any possession. The framework is clearly there, we just need to carry on fine tuning. At this stage of the season, the result is far more important than the performance, especially when I am not ready to give up on Europa Qualification yet.

Just the one change from our last win as Fosu-Mensah, on loan from Manchester United, comes in to the heart of defence to take the place of fellow loanee Mauricio Lemos who has failed to impress in his first couple of games.

A fantastic result and one where our tactical vision finally clicked in to place. Mane and Draxler terrorised the Mainz defence, regularly beating their full backs and whipping crosses in. Two assists for Mane, a goal and an assist for Draxler, another goal for Mayoral, things have started superbly in Germany, and a clean sheet to boot!

A couple of rotational changes in a bid to keep players fresh, but overall I really dont want to mess with the side too much. Aleks Kolarov gets his first start, in for the rested Rodriguez, while Gerhardt is in for Witsel and Gomez starts up front to give Mayoral a rest.

Really angry that we have lost that game, especially when Bayern and Leverkusen were both knocked out as well, it was going to be a winnable cup. We absolutely battered them, but a combination of wasteful finishing and a world class goalkeeping display denied us. Fosu-Mensah played the most stupid backpass you have ever seen, underhit it and threw the match away.

Jasper Cillessen picked up a knock in the last match and will miss 1-2 weeks of action meaning Benaglio deputises today. Lemos, Witsel, Rodriguez and Mayoral are all restored to their starting places.

An afternoon of frustration for us, I thought we had done enough to win it. We were the better team for 90% of the match but it simply took us too long to get the opening goal. Sadio Mane eventually got it for his first for the club, but then we conceded 5 minutes from time, failing to defend a cross from deep. Even worse is that Witsel got himself sent off for dissent for arguing with officials about the goal being offside. Tough to take.

Unchanged! and its nice to be able to say that. Hopefully I am working with my best starting XI now, its just a case of coaxing some performances out of them.

Really poor today, its now three matches in a row without a win and we have lost our mojo in front of goal. When I gave the lads the instruction to get stuck in to challenges, I think they took it a little bit too seriously, picking up five bookings and giving away two penalties which killed us. Mario Gomez picked up an away goal off the bench to keep the tie alive, but not optimistic about this.

Another hugely frustrating game. We dominated in terms of attempts but struggled to keep hold of the ball and control the match, perhaps a change in tactic is required? At least the decision to play Kolarov was justified as he popped up to score our equaliser and earn us another point.

Great story! Wolfsberg are a great club to control. Onwards and upwards!

Something tells me that Fenerbahce are going to be quite happy defending their lead. In terms of ourselves, Witsel is back into the side, Trasch replaces the suspended Jung at right back and Gomez gets another chance to lead the line.

A famous comeback victory as we secured the goals we needed to win on away goals and progress in the Europa League. I am so proud of everybody as we changed our strategy a little and kept hold of possession, trying to patiently work our way around Fenerbahces overly defensive formation. Max Meyer lofted a head over the goalkeeper for our first before Kolarov (Quickly becoming one of our best players) lashed home a free kick to double our advantage. It was all a bit tense at the end, but we held on!

Firstly, I do apologise for the slightly different screenshots your getting! I have just downloaded the Andromeda skin (which I absolutely love by the way, would highly recommend it!) and I am still working out where I can get the views I want. In team news, Jung is back in the side after serving his suspension but otherwise unchanged.

A really good performance from the boys, especially as we had just two days off between this game and the Fenerbahce game in mid week. Draxler and Gomez ran the show for us and we never really looked in much threat of not winning this. A welcome boost and three more big points.

January/February Review

View attachment 119881
A bit of a mixed 6 weeks, but overall I think I need to be happy with how my start at the club has gone. Just the two defeats in the league, one of which to Bayern, while we progressed in the Europa League. Disappointed to be out of the German Cup but I think it was very low on the priority list.

Table
View attachment 119877
We sit very comfortably in mid table, 9 points clear of the relegation fight and only 5 points short of European qualification. I am sure we can still do this!

Player of the Month
View attachment 119876

Aleksander Kolarov is my pick for player of the month. An assured presence in the heat of the defence who has really improved our organisation. Another positive is his prowess on dead ball situations, giving us a real threat from free kicks and corners.

March Fixtures
View attachment 119875
A nightmare of a month coming up with Dortmund, Leverkusen and Red Bull Leipzig (all in the top 5) mixed with our Europa League tie against Sevilla. Make or break.

Sunderland
View attachment 119873
Alex Neil is looking completely lost at Sunderland, losing game after game in the Premiership, with his side not having scored a league goal in well over a month.

View attachment 119871
This has seen Sunderland slip towards the relegation zone. Is all the good work I did at the club about to be undone?
