The Steel City Revival 2016 till Forever

February

League cup success in a dominating win against the Toon Army
Abysmal result at the Etihad where we let in 4 goals in the first 20 minutes and it wasnt even our worst performance of the month
We saved that for Burnley where we never killed the game after a early goal and despite having 20 minutes to find a winner our attack was toothless in doing so.

We tied Chelsea's record of 95 points. The top 3 stayed the same as expected. Liverpool won the race to 4th. Leicester & Watford who were hardly in the bottom 3 all season go down with Stoke who were always in danger.

Season 2020/21 Review

Our 2nd League title in 3 seasons was a fantastic recovery from the players that struggled to a 10th place finish and not only winning the league but by 12 points and with a record equaling points total.
Man City finished 7 points down on last seasons total but still comfortably 2nd. Tottenham consolidate there top 4 status and are joined by Liverpool who return to the champions league in Steve Mclaren's 1st season.
All 3 relegated team sack there managers as did Arsenal who sacked Pako Ayestaran after 2 seasons, First time anyone has managed 2 seasons since Wenger retired in 2016. Hull & Brentford were clear at the top and are joined by 6th place Bournemouth,
Poor Newcastle were runner ups in the FA Cup as they lost to Tottenham on Penalty securing Man Utd's spot in the Europa League
Didnt all go Tottenhams way though as PSG beat them in the Champions League final
Tim Horn won the Golden glove with 18, worst score in 3 seasons
The U19s 2 yer unbeaten run in there Champions League ended in the final against Man Utd

Sheffield United
United were 70 minutes away from a return to the Premiership but threw away a lead at Wembley to Bournemouth who beat them to the final Premiership spot.

Sheffield FC
????
This is where i give up on these guys. Will check in on them at the end of season in case they get up but the board ended our feeder program so seemed like just the right time to finish it off

Season 2021/22 Preview

Most of the team decided they were happy to stay with us now were winning stuff. Only player That MAY be on the waqy out is Timo Horn. He wouldnt sign a new deal so i bought his replacement from Porto in Andre Ribeiro. Along with a few kids.

Season 5 Targets

Premiership - Top 4 Finish
Champions League - Last 16
FA & League Cups - Try and win a cup

Time to cement our domestic place in the top 4 and the money that comes with Champions League money. We really need to challenge for a FA Cup but will be hard with Champions League action if we get that far. In Europe we still have to grow there but we should get to the last 16.

Out
Volume wise its our biggest sales so far. Long time wing back Jon Flanagan was sold off. Played 18 times last season but the youth coming through deserves its chance and he's off to Bournemouth. Not sure where they have got all there money from but they also bid for our winger Henry Henriquez who had just got his Spainish citizenship but never played for us once. Other youth projects that havent worked are Jorginho, Antonio Perez, Leon Friar, Shane Harrop & Zdravko Popov

Now 25 Andres was one of my first signings in my first summer at the club. 213 League appearances for us later and he's already having his best goal scoring season hitting 2 goals for the first time.
