I noticed that recently. Hovering over the attachment thing next to the name of the thread and didn't realise i put in so many more screenshots. Oh well it really isn't to hard since i play FM in wondowed mode then cut out what i want using the "Snipping Tool" from Windows.

Basically played on a bit too much. So instead of doing two different updates just going to combine it into one. Overall the start to the season hasn't been awful though that Arsenal game was woeful, and my fault looking back on it i approached it in the stupidest way. I wasn't expecting to beat City but we did put up a good fight. Just losing out to a last minute OG goal from Brad Guzan. Unfortunately Harry Kane hasn't had the impact i had hoped him to have, hopefully that is just him getting used to Birmingham life. On the other hand Telmo Maciel got his Aston Villa career spectacularly with a double on his debut yet has gone rather quiet since. Wim de Graaf has also played well in the games he has played so far. 2 months in and i would say we are going well.
Not going to do individual match reports because that would take an absolute age going through two months in 1 go.

A rather unpredictable month. We should beat Hull away though that is a potential banana skin. I am hoping to get a point if more against Chelsea leading up to the double header against Norwich. I really want to go far in the Capital One Cup this season. See if i can possibly bag a trophy.

Aston Villa - October 2016
View attachment 378384UNBEATENNN MONTH! yeahhhhhh buddy. Well, nearly. Going out to Norwich in the Capital One Cup game on penalties at home to Norwich ****** me off. Especially since they missed their 1st and 2nd penalties only for us to miss our 4th,5th and 6th penalties to hand them the game. Harry Kane is also injured for 4 months. He seems at the moment to be a shoo in for worst signing of the season. At least he only cost 3.6 million! Now i just ahve to hope Cisse or Bendtner or even Griffiths (my youngster) can step up. HMMM. We'll see.

Sitting in 4th 10 games in. Yes a long way to go but the early signs for this season are definitely POSITIVE. The merseyside teams are exactly doing to well though at the moment. Everton even won the League two seasons ago but had a tough season last season and haven't exactly gotten off to a good start this season. Liverpool are doing what Liverpool always do in FM... turn *****.

Only 3 games in November and in all honesty they're actually quite tough. Tottenham away especially. Everton are on a bad run but can beat anyone on their day and Swansea are also quite unpredictable. Hoping to get at least 7 points from this month.

I will no longer be doing a write up for every game as i feel it is taking to long to write the updates and is becoming more and more of a chore to write. Instead i will try and include all the same info, ie all the results etc but just shorten it. This i hope should mean that i can progress quicker in the game and make this story go faster as well. Thankyou for reading

View attachment 378188Only 3 games this month as you know, i think it is due to some international fixtures + we were no longer in the Capital One Cup. We battled back from being 2-0 down to Swansea at half time to win it. We then lost a very tight game against Tottenham were i feel we deserved at least a point, after that i believe we put in a great performance to beat Everton. Ironically our centre backs scored 1/2 our goals this mnth, not a very nice statistic going forward.

View attachment 378186Still doing pretty well, it's all very close in and around where i am at the moment. Basically a 1/3 of the way though the league campaign. If we keep up the momentum then we will most certainly entertaing some good European nights next season! After a 2 year absence from the continental scene.

Eder Alvarez Balanta has been a rock at the back since we signed him in our first season. He has definitely returned and more on my 6million investment and his value has gone up to the 11 million mark. He played well all month and got his first goal of the season against Everton.

A tough game against Manchester Utd this month has we see this months games double to 6. Fairly straight forward i would like to say, but i fear jinxing it. Banana skins littered all over the place, like playing Mario Kart again!

Once again a mixed month with a very bad start evened out, partially, by a very good end. Papiss Cisse bagged his FIRST goal of the season vs West Brom and we looked to be on a winning path before we gave away a stupid penalty. The Manchester Utd game gave me horrible deja vu. Despite taking the lad halfway through the 2nd half we still managed to capitulate losing by a 3 goal margin AGAIN. So annoying! Then we followed that up with a woeful performance against Reading, some seriously shoddy dfending going on there. By this point i gave up on my regular starters so i decided to give a couple of youngsters a run out. Namely Richard Williams (the summer signing from Hibernian who plays on the right flank), Martyn Griffiths (an academy product of ours who

Transfers Update - January 2017
View attachment 377826

A loyal servant in his time here. Had become a bench warmer this season falling behind the likes of Okore and Balanta as well as De Graaf. I managed to negotiate with Frankfurt a 4.5 million deal, which i think is perfect value for money for them. Made a nice 3 million profit on them. Also free up the wage bill for me to sign some promising youngsters i have been eyeing up.

Just signed this lad, promising goalkeeper who is set to join on a free when his contract with Valencia runs out. IF my scouts are right then he is set to become a better keeper than Brad Guzan is currently, if that comes true than it will be a great bargain.

Ahhhh! So close to having the perfect month if it wasn't for that loss to Southampton, a game which we dominated only for them to score a lucky corner goal. This month include a good win against Liverpool at Anfield and a solid draw at home to Arsenal. Nicklas Bendtner seems to hit a reasonably good vein of form, hopefully he can keep it up for the rest of the season. Not only did we win most of our games this month but we also scored a lot of goals, something we have been struggling to do of late. Great signs heading into the last 3 months of the season. A potential FA Cup run? I doubt it, you'll understand why when you see next months fixtures.

Sitting very nicely in 5th place only 2 points from 4th, although Arsenal do have a game in hand. Also Southampton and Spurs are breathing right up my backside so i must keep this form going or i will slide very quickly!

Nice little signing for the future. Is predicted to become a world class left back. Admittedly i did over pay considering his age but still, if i get it right with this kid then it will pay bountiful dividends.

Bendtner had a great month, being joint top scorer (with Leandro Bacuna) and also set up 2 goals. He has only been a bit part player ever since he joined us but has always come up with the goals when he has played, unlike in real life.

Tough month this one, Chelsea away as well as two consecutive games against City, if we lose both of them then i can see morale dropping, and with it form as well. Critical month this one is.

An ALRIGHT month, in general. The Chelsea game got rescheduled due to the FA Cup replay, which we lost on penalties 5-4 and guess who missed the penalty? Harry Kane, yes the same guy who had scored a hatrick on his return from a 4 month injury goes on to miss the losing penalty. ******. Nicklas Bendtner once again had a STORMING month, especially in that [very frustrating] 4 all draw with Palace. The good thing is we didn't lose (well we did but that was on penalties).

Not much has changed since last month, still 5th but only just. Tottenham are still clawing at my heels as are Southampton. And although i am not too far off the TOP 4 they do have games in hand so i am pretty much happy to give up on that hope.

Once again Bendtner continues his amazing form. 6 goals this month. I could have award this to Harry Kane simply due to his stunning performance on his first game back since injury but... the clue is in the title. Player of the month and Bendtner has certainly been the best player this month.

Toughish month. I just want to do as well as possible. I really don't know how this month will turn put. Also youth intake this month which i will do a separate update. Hoepfully we get a good intake this year.

Aston Villa - March 2017
View attachment 377647A short month that went, well ******* SUPERBLY. First we bag an amazing win against Chelsea, De Guzman having a stormer with Kane bagging his FIRST league goal of the season. Then came more of a boring reality check. We still aren't consistant. This was a game we should have won but a sloppy start gave the Swans a 2-0 lead at half time, luckily we fought our way back into it. Then a great defensive effort set us up for a nice 1-0 victory of Spurs.

View attachment 377646

Well we may be in 4th but Arsenal have two games in hand and will most likely retake 4th. Despite our good form Newcastle and Southampton are still keeping up pace, which is annoying though as long as we don't completely capitulate i would assume we should get European footy. God i remember saying that last year and look how it turned out.

Big month. Reasonably straight forward though i am dreading the Utd game especially after our last two encounters. If we keepup what we have been doing, beating the teams we are supposed to beat than it will be of no importance the Utd game, but somehow it never works out like that. Everton despite struggling this season will be tough especially at Goodison park and West Brom could provide us with a surprise or two, who knows?

Aston Villa - April 2017

Frustrating month really. Twice we threw away 2 goal leads, both to really late goals. I was pulling my hair out in frustration. Predictably we got smashed by Manchester Utd. Seemingly i can't get out of the habit now that i am in it. The habit is worringly losing to United by 3 goals. One plus is the form of Harry Kane who has performed brilliantly since he has come back from injury. His record currently stands at 10 goals in 16 appearances which really isn't all that bad.

Looking very nice. Sitting in 3rd. We could potentially get Champions League if Arsenal or Chelsea slip up although i find that unlikely. Our last game of the season is against Newcastle, which could be an interesting one as they are our rivals for continental qualification. Despite this we do have a very nice 4 point cushion going into the last two games. Seems a simple job... hopefully it will pan out like that as well.

Accidentally played on a bit as you can see but Stoke and Newcastle are two very tough games to end the season with. Especially Newcastle away, let's just do our best and see where that takes us!

Aston Villa - May 2017
View attachment 377637

What a ****** way to end the season :L. Absolutely shocking performance against Newcastle as they deservedly beat us 3-0. Fuming after that, as if we had won it we would have been through to the Champions League. (I didn't do the big hype i did about last years last day of the season as i didn't feel as much was at stake and it involved too few clubs). At least we put in a good performance against Stoke. Bendtner finishing the season with 18 goals from 36 games (in all competitions).

There you have it. 2016/17. I would definitely call it a success, especially re-entering Europe for the first time since our first season, that should boost the finances somewhat. Liverpool get an EC spot due to make the FA Cup final. The result is TBC as they haven't played Manchester Utd yet.

My next update will be just before the start of next season and will show you all my transfers etc, etc.

Aston Villa - Pre Season 2017

Alright pre-season. Nothing to special. The one loss was a poor one but i would put that down to being unfit and me not putting out a full strength team. Should have beat Aberdeen but Simao's red card early on made that difficult. Really just an average pre season, getting into the rhythem.

Transfers

In
View attachment 377425Thoroughly chuffed with these lot. A lot of money spent admittedly but that's alright there was a couple of big departures that allowed us to spend this much money. Big names in there include Townsend, Trindade, Dybala and Denswil, while i also have signed some regens. Alex Orlando was a quality find, especially being on a free, my centre back position is looking very strong with Lopes, Denswil and Okore there. Dybala will hopefully be that one striker that provides us with 20/30 goals this season, a feature that we missed last season.
I also have 2 players coming in on January 1st 2018 from Corinthians on frees. Both quality regens. Screenies:

Eder Alvarez Balanta

Loyal servant, did see him retiring here but Arsenal offered 25 million and that was an offer i simply couldn't say no to. Funded about 2/3 of my summer spending spree.

Jonathon Masters

A reasonably promising youngster but Reading offered 5 million which i was more than happy to say yes to. Off he went.

Ashley Westwood

Loyal servant. Left on a free at the end of his contract, the competition had just gotten the best of him.

Gabby Agbonlahor
View attachment 377408

Was a great player in his peak years. Unfortunately them peaks years have more than past. His last really good season was the first season in game. Since then he has just been a fringe player, a fringe player on big wages (at least for Aston Villa standards). So i decided to mutually terminate his contract, while it did cost me 1.5 or so million it was i would have ended up paying him over the next year until his contract was up. In general it was better for both of us.

Jake Pears
View attachment 377403

Well, i hadn't even payed much attention to this kid until Hull City came in with a rather surprising bid of 1 million for him. I managed to wangle them up to 1.9 million then said they can have him. Horribly overpaying in my opinion, he will never be more than a poor Premier League player, if that.

Nicklas Bendtner
View attachment 377394
Lost a bit of money on him, seeing as we sold him for 1.2 million and bought him for 3.1 million. Another guy eating up the wage bill and only had 1 year left on his contract so i decided to offer out and cash in. Had a decent record with us: 33 goals in 80 appearances.

So in total i raked in 32.6 million from fees. The reason i didn't post a straight screenshot is because i released like half of my u18s because there was no need for them. So basically i couldn't fit it all in one picture.

What a ****** hard way to start the season, though to be fair the results against these teams last season do give me a bit of encouragement. Really short month though. Should be done quickly, and i should manage to get September, possibly October out tonight.

Entertaining stuff, shame about missing out on the CL on the last day. **** like that is why I don't play any more, haha.
