Aston Villa Football Club is an English professional football club based in Aston, Birmingham, who play in the Premier League. The club was founded in 1874 and have played at their current home ground, Villa Park, since 1897. Aston Villa were founder members of The Football League in 1888. They were also founder members of the Premier League in 1992. The club was floated by the previous owner and chairman Doug Ellis, but in 2006 full control of the club was acquired by Randy Lerner.

They are one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in England, having won the First Division Championship seven times and the FA Cup seven times. Villa also won the 1981–82 European Cup, one of only four English clubs to win what is now the UEFA Champions League. Aston Villa has the fourth highest total of major honours won by an English club.

They have a long-standing and fierce rivalry with local rivals Birmingham City. The Second City derby between Aston Villa and Birmingham City has been played since 1879. The club's traditional kit colours are claret shirts with sky blue sleeves, white shorts and sky blue socks. Their traditional crest is of a rampant gold lion on a light blue background with the club's motto "Prepared" underneath; a modified version of this was adopted in 2007.

Aston Villa announce manager Martin O'Neill has been sacked, due to a bust up with Chairman Randy Lerner, the club would not say more then that, but the media seem to think O'Neill swung a fist at Randy, who wasted no time in sacking the manager.

Tuesday 7th July 2009

Randy Lerner had this to say "I am sorry to the fans i had to do this, i know you liked O'Neill as a person and a manager, but we can't have him doing what he did and to still be manager of a big club like Aston Villa, we have already started looking for a new manager and we are pretty sure we will have one within 24 hours, once we know who the new manager is you'll find out as fast as possible".

Who will be the new Aston Villa manager....

Glad you took my advice and went as Villa ^^)

Been waiting for a decent Villa story.. guess I'll have to wait a bit longer now ;)

The New Manager...

Wednesday 8th July 2009
Randy Lerner - "It's been 24 hours, and we did say we would have a new manager by then, and we have. After sacking O'Neill we got to work on finding a new manager, and we made a few calls but could not find one, and then around 19:00 yesterday the phone rang, and it was a old Villa player who had heard we where looking for a new manager, and after chat it was decided Martin Laursen would be the new manager of Aston Villa football club.

The Fans
A spokesman for a local Aston Villa group had this to say "I think it's great new Laursen is the new manager, he was a super player and captain for us and knows the club well, he will want us to go forward and will have a plan to do this, the rest of the Villa fans group think the same as i have said, and we think he is the right man for the job"

Martin Laursen
"I am very happy i have been given this job, and it seems the club and the fans are behind me, and i hope i can bring success to the club, it was a sad day when i retired due to injury, and i did hope i would be back at the club one day, and now i am".

My idea to make Laursen manager (A)

I'll expect my cheque through soon.

Laursen's Plan

Season 1
It's going to be my 1st season as a manager, and i can't say I'm going to win something in the first season, cause it's likely i won't but there is a chance. So, i aim to finish 6th or higher in the league i think that is fair with the team and budget i have to work with. The FA Cup, i wish to reach the quarter final, i think the fans would be happy with that, anything else will just be a bonus. The league cup, some teams like to play weaker teams in this, so i think the Semi Final would be a good target for that. Europa League anything past the group stage will be good i think.

Season 2
I'd like to be pushing for top 4 in the league, and being up there with Chelsea, Liverpool Utd, Arsenal and i think we can do that in a season, FA Cup, don't see why in a years time we can't be in the Semi final or even the final. League cup same as the FA Cup. And the Europa league, Quarters maybe the Semi final not to sure about Europa.

I've not decided what i want to happen in Season 3, but i think I'll try and get these 2 season's done first, and then I'll think about what i want to happen in season 3.

Sounds like a plan to me (H)

Good luck with it Martin ;)

Pre-Season & The first months fixtures, will be up tomorrow.

GL buddy, bring back the glory days of winning the European Cup to Villa!

2 New Faces.

Laursen
I did not have a big budget to work with, and i only wanted to bring players in who would add something to the team, so i had a long hard think, and i ended up with a list of 6 players, all who i would like to sign, cause they where players willing to join the club, and would all add something to the team.

Fernando Gago
Now, when you see Gago on the transfer list, you can't really say no to making a big can you? So we made a bid to Real Madrid £1.5 Million now and £3.5 Million in 48 months, and only a day later the bid was accepted, and we where not the only team to bid for the 23 year old, so we knew it would be hard to make him sign the dotted line, but we had a long talk with the player about the contract, and we came to a deal we both thought was good. It was just down to what other clubs would offer. And only hours after our talk, Gago signed.

Yannick Djalo
Like Gago, Djalo was transfer listed by his club Sporting Lisbon and for the price they wanted i just had to try and get him, £800k is all they wanted for the player, and as he was so cheap, we where not the only team who made the big. So it came down to us and some more teams to see who could tempt him with a contract offer. And we won. :)

I do not believe this will be carrying on as Coach Carter has recieved a permanent ban sadly.

I did have a permanent ban, but it's all be sorted now.

I'm going to load the game up now, and I'll update soon :)

Month 1, The Season Starts Here.

The start of the season if finally here, and I'm excited to see what i can do with Villa in this season. The team and the staff are some of the best in the league, so I'm hoping we can do well this season, and give the fans something to cheer about. It's going to be hard but we all believe we can do it.

The Games

English Premier Division
Stoke 1 - 2 Aston Villa ( Young & Agbonlahor )

First game of the season, and Stoke away is a hard game to start with. The game was pretty even over the 90 minutes, and we both created chances but out of all the chances created, i feel we did create the better chances, and we where better in-front of goal. Which game us the 3 points today. But it could have been different if Stoke took there chances.

Europa League 4th Qual. Round Leg 1
Aston Villa 5 - 0 Sivasspor ( Agbonlahor x3, Carew, Milner )

A massively one sided game, we dominated the game from start to finish all over the park, and the team played some very good football even if it was against a team that was not full of superstars I'm still pleased with how they played. Agbonlahor and his pace caused them so many problems and was by far the best player on the pitch.

English Premier Division
Aston Villa 3 - 1 Sunderland ( Agbonlahor x2 & Carew )

Another tough game in the league, Sunderland are a tough team to beat and i did not expect us to win this game, but we did and looking at how both teams played we played much better then they did and did deserve the 3 points.

Europa League 4th Qual. Round Leg 2
Sivasspor 0 - 2 Aston Villa ( Heskey & Carew )

After the first game being 5-0 we new we did not have to go out and attack, attack, attack, so we really just sat back and tried not to waste any energy cause we don't really have to. So we sat back and dealt with what they threw at us and we did, and got 2 goals on the counter. Easy win overall.

English Premier Division
Blackburn 2 - 2 Aston Villa ( Agbonlahor & Robinson OG )

First away game of the League, and it was a tough game, Blackburn gave us some real problems and at one point it looked like they where going to take the lead and steal the 3 points, but we hung on till the end and got a good point away from home
