A terrible performance away at Burton. They were clinical with their chances, we just....weren't. However, that result doesn't matter because results elsewhere mean we are PROMOTED TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP. An incredible achievement.

Ok, this is getting pretty f****** concerning now. We didn't take our chances and Carlisle did. We should not be getting beat by an already relegated side, I'm angry and I've let the players know that.

Zach Clough, you little beauty! His goals gave us a 2-0 win over Ipswich and with MK Dons beating Lincoln, that means the title is back in our hands. Avoid defeat against Lincoln on the last day and it's ours, lose and it's theirs. I don't think I've ever been this nervous.

Fans' Player of the Season

As much as I love Luke Wood, this should really have gone to Zach Clough. However, that's not to say that Luke doesn't deserve it. The two of them have been phenomenal up front for us this season.

Signing of the Season

An absolute no brainer for me. Zach has come in and been brilliant for us, keeping Jake Scrimshaw, who was superb for us last season, out of the side.

2024/25 Squad

Usually, I'm quite confident when it gets to the end of pre-season and I see the squad we have for the season. However, this time that's not the case. I'm going to be brutally honest and say that this squad is not Championship standard, that said, I'll still be aiming to a mid-table finish or a cheeky playoff push.

We went into this game a place below Millwall so we were targeting as one we could potentially get a result in if we did the right things. For 80 minutes, we did the right things but the less said about the last 10 the better. Disappointed that we've let a two-goal lead slip but that shows what the quality is like in this league, you can't switch off.

After losing three on the bounce, I completely tore up the tactics page in my notebook. Out went the 4-4-2 and in came a 3-5-2 which then developed into a 3-4-3 during the game. The changes worked a treat and we ran out 5-2 winners away at Cardiff.

Should I stay or should I go?

The time has come, I now have to decide between following my Premier League dream or continuing this epic journey with Warrington Town. I'm going to go through the pros and cons before making my decision.

Staying at Warrington

So, here are the reasons why I could stay at Warrington.

985dd0e7f27bf260cf740aa815e729c0.png

1. I'm a club legend here at Warrington.

af7a0113744a51766cee8b0ae1918932.png

2. The continuation of a quite incredible journey through the football league.

75c8f323da5d27362a2d8c1f97afcadf.png

3. The board are more than happy with the job I'm doing and I'm in no danger of getting sacked any time soon.

a92b194a1876a921dbc7cbe433fc62a2.png

4. Our finances continue to improve year on year.

Leaving Warrington

Here are the reasons for moving on.

3161ca088c803c5f4349da050389b275.png

1. Our facilities are awful, meaning we can't grow players and our youth prospects are tragic year on year.

a547fcc233ab4056f04b5f05af172b96.png

2. As a manager, I like to bring players through the youth system but that's not possible here

7e919093ba3691402353da2277cc4c45.png

c705aa9a787d6cbf216b09c18dbc98c2.png

816856a9243b2910058dc6edf49ce79d.png

3. This is quite a major problem. Our squad just is not good enough for this league.

00a709b1702af581fb8ff28d862a8716.png

4. To add to that, our stature isn't good enough to allow us to attract better players to club. This was a massive problem in the summer where I had players turning me down left right and centre.

6c6b07ba2c3523f4e2d7ee3464023326.png

5. Middlesbrough just poached my long-serving assistant manager.

1d7993a121ea9efff27c45558631357f.png

6. Liverpool are currently the dominant side in England. Trying to overthrow them at the biggest rivals is more than tempting after the way they ditched me as a player.
